9 Fashion Editors Share Their Favorite Buys of the Season (So Far)
Fall has been doling out some seriously cool pieces for us to get stuck into this season. From the coolest chunky boots to swoon-worthy coats and seriously cool sweater-vests, there’s no lack of chic pieces to add to your cart now that the leaves have turned brown and the crisp days are upon us.
As we Who What Wear editors continue to work from home, there’s no doubt I miss the daily sartorial eye candy at the office—a constant source of style inspiration! I always loved getting the insider scoop as to where an editor procured a certain cute piece. While we certainly see some of each other’s outfit highlights on Instagram, I was curious to see what my fellow editors have been buying and loving this season. If you’re curious, too, scroll below as our editors share their favorite fall buys of the season so far.
"I bought these boots in tan last year and loved them so much that I recently bought them in black, too. Even though there are so many chunky Chelsea boots on the market this season, this pair is supreme, in my opinion. They're surprisingly lightweight and very comfortable, and I like that the chunkiness of them is low-key compared to other extreme options out there."

"I buy a lot of face masks, but Kes (which is a sustainable brand) makes some of my favorites, by far. I call this set of checked masks my "fall masks" for obvious reasons. They fit really well and have a pocket for a filter. Also, shout out to the brand's equally beautiful silk masks, which I also highly recommend."
Shop:
"This leather blazer from Zara has been a game changer. I have to try not to wear it with every outfit when I go out. It has that perfect oversize fit that goes with everything—with a dress or with a more laid-back look like I'm wearing here."
Shop:
"I seriously still can't believe this sweater only cost me $40. It's officially the coziest thing I own."
Shop:
"Looking for a bag that's versatile but also a statement piece? Well, you're in luck because I just found it."
"My love for sweater-vests grows deeper every day! I'm drawn to slightly oversize silhouettes that I can style over shirts, tees, and blouses. This houndstooth print is classic yet bold and instantly elevates even the most basic jeans-and-tee outfits. The rhinestone buttons give it just the right amount of pizzazz to wear into the evening."
Shop:
"Rubber boots are having a major moment this season, and I'm 100% here for the practical trend! They're perfect for wearing with fall dresses and jeans alike—not to mention very convenient for playing in puddles and dirt with my son. I love this cool ivory pair, which I unearthed on Amazon, that comes with a very reasonable price tag."
Shop:
"Is there anything prettier than a vintage-inspired collared blouse? These days, it makes me feel like I've made a little effort on the sartorial front—not to mention it's perfect for video calls."
Shop:
"My favorite buy of the season so far is an easy answer: this affordable cardigan from our own Who What Wear collection. It's sweater season, so this little lavender cardigan has a lot of competition, but the second I put it on, it shot to the top of my favorites list. It's soft, has pretty statement sleeves, and feels trend forward in lavender. Can we also talk about the crop? It's the perfect length to feel proportional on my 5'4'' frame without having to tuck it in. Don't even get me started on the oversize buttons, or we'll be here all day!"
"I was on the fence about buying the viral Instagram sweater from the Latinx brand Simonett. But honestly, this may possibly be the best thing I've gotten all quarantine. I am in love with how versatile it can be in terms of styling, and it's just such a fun take on knitwear."
Shop:
"While I bought these Zara faux leather pants last season, I have to say the only thing I want to continue wearing (and buying for that matter) is leather pants."
Shop:
"Much like fellow editors, I've been particularly obsessed with the brand With Jéan and immediately needed to have this two-piece geo-print set in my life. What's great about it is that I can wear it in various seasons and mix and match it with other pieces in my wardrobe."
Shop:
"The minute I saw this Anine Bing sweatshirt featuring an iconic Faye Dunaway photograph by Terry O'Neill, I had to have it. It takes my WFH 'fits to the next level."
Shop:
"I got these pants toward the end of summer and haven't stopped wearing them since. While the print is definitely a little wild, I have been pleasantly surprised by all the ways I have been able to style them. My go-to look is a big black blazer and strappy sandals as shown here, but all summer, I wore them with ribbed tube tops, breezy button-downs, and basic tanks."

"I was really looking forward to investing in something soft, luxurious, and comfortable. So instead of a new bag or shoes, I decided on a beautiful, quality sweater. Of course, you can never go wrong with a classic camel. I’d layer this under a tan coat for a tonal look."
