4 New Fall Basics That Will Make My Wardrobe Feel Up-to-Date
I’ve been strategically going through the new fall collections and trend pieces to identify which items could be worth mixing into my rotation this season. I tend to like pieces that are fashion-forward, versatile, and capable of holding strong for more than one season. So naturally, both trendy and basic pieces routinely pique my interest.
This season, I’m focusing on the basics, and there are currently four next-level basics that have grabbed my attention. These pieces are simple and modern, and I think they’ll make my wardrobe feel as up-to-date as possible. One of those pieces? Dark-wash jeans. I’ve always been a fan of black denim and light-wash jeans, but right now, dark blue silhouettes are having a moment, and I’m not going to get in their way. Below, you’ll find more on dark-wash denim and other fall basics I’m loving right now. I've also included a bit of shopping inspiration and styling ideas from some of my favorite fashion people.
1. Elevated Cardigan
Cardigans are always a go-to for me. This season, I’m all about those elevated and unique picks. This style from Who What Wear Collection, for example, is chic and cropped. I’m also into extra-long styles for a twist on a classic.
2. Oversize Shirting
I’ve highlighted oversize shirts a few times in recent stories because I’m just so into the style. A button-down shirt is a timeless basic, and the relaxed fit is forward and modern.
3. Dark-Wash Jeans
As I mentioned, I’m considering adding a pair of dark-wash jeans to my rotation to freshen up my denim collection.
4. Chunky Knit
Chunky knits just scream fall. Cable-knit sweaters with extremely cozy vibes will be especially relevant this season.
