7 Things I'm Buying to Make My Wardrobe Look More Expensive in 2024
With the New Year upon us, I'm doing a bit of wardrobe reflection. There's no time like the present to take stock of what my wardrobe is lacking and start shopping for those pieces that'll upgrade my closet in many ways. In general, an expensive-looking wardrobe is my goal—one that feels of the moment but won't look dated in a few years. I'm prioritizing purchases that I can wear beyond 2024 and that will make my outfits look more luxe every single time.
The caveat is that I certainly don't want to do harm to my bank account, so I'm prioritizing items that don't cost a ton. And if they are more of an investment, I really want to get my money's worth (as in, wear them over and over for years). If you too are in the market for a wardrobe refresh for 2024, join me and shop these seven outfit-transforming items.
Tweed Jackets
If you're like me and love the Chanel aesthetic, you need at least one tweed jacket in your life. It'll make whatever you're wearing look elegant.
Shop tweed jackets:
Belts
I love it when belts are trendy, as they are right now, but a good leather belt is timeless and instantly elevates an outfit.
Shop leather belts:
Blue Button-Downs
Some are saying that blue button-downs are the new white button-downs among the fashion crowd, but they're equally classic and versatile.

Headbands
If you're a millennial like I am, you're likely to always associate headbands with Blair Waldorf–level luxury. They go in and out, but I think that simple, neutral-colored headbands will always be in.
Shop headbands:
Burgundy
Burgundy has long been one of my favorite fall and winter colors, and thanks to Gucci's S/S 24 collection, I think it's going to be an It color this spring as well. Sign me up.
Shop burgundy pieces:
Investment Trench Coat
I've been thinking about investing in a special trench coat for years now, and I just might make it happen in 2024. It's something you'll wear forever.
Shop trench coats:
Dark Denim
I love all denim, but the wash that looks the most expensive is dark wash, without a doubt. And for once, I actually need new jeans, so dark denim is what I'll be shopping for in 2024.
