These Are the 6 Nail Polish Colours That Make My Outfits Look Expensive
I don't know about you, but I consider nail polish an outfit accessory, just as I would jewellery or a trending belt. You see, I think a statement manicure can really elevate your whole look, and help to take your style to the next level.
However, that doesn't mean that your nails have to be complicated. In fact, I think that a simple, block colour is the easiest way to make your manicure stand out. Therefore, I've taken it upon myself to round up the trendiest nail colours that I think make any outfit look expensive, no matter whether it's high street or designer.
These nail colours are such an easy, affordable way of adding a sophisticated touch to any look, but don't worry, just because they're elegant, doesn't mean they're boring. That's right, forget your classic shades, as there are so many fun colours that can still look chic.
From forest greens to navy blues, keep on scrolling for my favourite expensive-looking nail colours to try this summer and beyond. These shades can definitely work all year round, so you don't have to worry about buying new shades every season. Trust me, add these six colours to your collection and you will never look back.
1. Burgundy
First up is burgundy. This gorgeous deep red colour looks beautiful on everyone. I would always opt for a burgundy polish that has a glossy finish to make my mani look extra expensive.
The perfect mix between a deep red and a dark purple, its a versatile colour that looks good on all skin tones.

This Essie polish is the perfect burgundy shade, and it even has a high-shine finish for that salon-worthy look.
You know that a burgundy manicure is chic when it comes in Chanel packaging.
2. Navy Blue
Navy has always been such an expensive-looking colour, in my opinion. What I love about this shade is that although it's a classic, it still manages to make a statement.
Blue emerges as a nail trend in some iteration each season, but a deep navy blue is as timeless as a classic black manicure—it never dates.

This deep blue-black has an incredible shine to it.
3. Cloudy Grey
People are quick to brush off grey as a boring colour, but I think this cloudy shade is super chic. Plus, it will go with everything in your wardrobe.
Timeless and understated, a grey manicure is pared-back and minimalist in world of vibrant nail art designs. And what says expensive more than that?

The cloudier the grey, the better. I'll be adding this Chanel shade to my basket ASAP.
4. Taupe
You can't go wrong with neutral colours, and taupe is my favourite for an expensive-looking finish. It complements both gold and silver jewellery, so don't be afraid to mix and match your metals when you're wearing this shade.
A versatile colour that lies somewhere between grey and brown, there are so many versions of taupe that you're bound to find one that looks amazing on you—whether that's a classic creamy beige undertone or something that has a more playful hint of pink.

Is this not the chicest nail polish you have ever seen? The colour, the packaging… everything about it screams luxury.
This cool-toned taupe has a hint of lilac for a flattering suits-all neutral.
5. Forest Green
How stunning is this forest green shade? Although light green colours are fun to play with, this darker hue is like the elegant older sister that you always want to copy.
A green manicure might sound a little out-there, but trust us—you'll be amazed at how wearable it is.

If you like gel nails, then this colour from Mylee will be your new go-to.
Prefer to do them at home? This high-street polish has all the shine of a gel manicure without the need for a UV lamp.
6. Sheer White
If you don't want anything too colourful, then opt for a sheer, milky white shade. This manicure is subtle but sophisticated, and I just know it's going to be in style for years to come.
Rather than a harsh Tipp-Ex white, this colour looks expensive because it almost looks like an enhancement of your natural nails—the ultimate clean-girl aesthetic.

Manucurist prides itself on removing harmful chemicals from its polishes, so not only will your nails look great, but you'll be keeping them healthy, too.
This nail polish leaves nails so glowy that they'll look as if they've been painted with pearls.
