14 Cheap Winter Sweaters That Actually Look Expensive
Just the other day I was commenting on how mild and surprisingly pleasant this season’s weather has been, only to be reminded by my husband that winter is, in fact, just getting started and that we have a solid two-and-a-half months (at least) of cold, cold, and more cold. Needless to say, I wasn’t pleased by the fact that my dream of a California-esque winter here in NYC had been crushed, but that’s another day’s complaint. The point here is that if you’ve been holding off on completing your cold-weather wardrobe because, like me, you foolishly thought you’ve made it through much more of the season than you actually have, I’m here to remind you that we’ve got a long way to go.
The good news, however, is that whether your boot collection needs completing or your coats could use an upgrade, we’ve always got a helpful story for you, and today’s is all about cheap sweaters (that, of course, look expensive). Thanks to our very own Who What Wear collection for Target, I’ve rounded up 14 of them you’ll not only feel cozy in, but you’ll actually look cool in too. Just keep scrolling to see some in action and shop all of them along the way.

Our editor Judith says that this cardigan has a "designer vibe," and I couldn't agree more. Good thing it's available in two colors and under $40.

Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here at Who What Wear, and she is currently Editor-at-Large. It was a less expected route, seeing as she was graduating from business school at USC when this all began, but it has turned out to be the best one for her. Fast-forward to 2024, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was an intern starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to classic pieces and neutral basics but will always make an exception for something colorful, printed, or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a good party is dressing up for one. On weekdays, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious for dinner and trying to force her husband to watch Summer House.
