Welcome to The Great Try-On. With spring officially in full swing, it's time to ready your wardrobe, and we're here to provide a little shopping inspiration. We got to try on some of the best spring pieces from some of your favorite brands and documented it all from our at-home dressing rooms so that you can see how they actually look IRL. We hope that our photos and candid reviews will help you shop for spring wardrobe builders that you'll wear over and over this season and beyond.

I'm a die-hard jeans-and-tee kind of gal. There's almost no occasion where I'm willing to deviate from my uniform—okay, I guess that's a slight exaggeration, but that does include fashion week! With the right jacket, shoes, and accessories, you can easily dress up the timeless outfit combo and make it look polished. On the other hand, it's also my ultimate go-to for lazy-morning dog walks and running errands.

To that end, I decided to base this story on what to wear with jeans. Everlane was kind enough to participate in our Great Try-On series, so I ordered up a storm and picked my absolute favorite pieces to include in this story. In addition to my outfit pics, I included the size I'm wearing for each item. For reference, I'm 5'10" and about 140 pounds. Scroll down for my honest reviews.

Everlane The Silky Cotton Relaxed Shirt + The Way-High Jeans

My review: I got this shirt in a size 4, and it fit me exactly the way I wanted: just a tad loose but not in an exaggerated way. Of course, you can wear it buttoned up, but I chose to style it unbuttoned with Everlane's Organic Cotton Box-Cut Tee ($30) and a vintage pendant necklace. I can also picture wearing this over my swimsuit on vacation.

My review: I got my normal size 28 in these jeans, and since I'm 5'10", I opted for the long version. I'm obsessed with the fit of these jeans, which I think are super comfortable and flattering. You can see where the jeans hit on my legs in the next slide (and I'm also wearing them in all subsequent slides). I'm grateful that Everlane has options for tall people! I plan on wearing these all the time.

My review: I finally find my perfect white button-up. In a size medium, this one has a perfectly relaxed and easygoing fit on me. I did have to steam it when it arrived, but it responded very well and was super quick to steam. I hate it when I have to go over something a million times to get the wrinkles out, but that was not the case with this. I styled it with a La Ligne striped T-shirt, Everlane The Way-High Jeans (Long) in Distressed ($98), and my favorite Dôen Mary Jane Slippers ($188).

Everlane The Air Oversized Crew Tee + The Invisible Bra

My review: Pay attention to the sizing when deciding which of Everlane's white T-shirts you'll like the best. Compared to Everlane's The Organic Cotton Box-Cut Tee ($30), which I'm wearing a few slides below, this Air Oversized Crew Tee has a much looser fit, a thinner material, and longer sleeves and is a tad more see-through. I'm wearing a size small in this one, as opposed to a medium in the Box-Cut Tee. I'd say I'm normally a medium, so this is a size down and works great. As you can see in my photos, it goes down to my crotch when untucked.

This one is absolutely perfect for a chill vibe and is super soft and comfy. However, you'll want to get a nude bra to wear underneath (unless you'd like to show off a darker bra, which would also look cute!). With Everlane's Invisible Bra in Light Tan ($35) underneath, I could see a faint outline of the bra, but I thought it was hardly noticeable and doesn't deter me at all. I would also be comfortable sleeping in this shirt!

Shop the tee:

My review: I got this bra in a size small, and I'm obsessed with it. The material is incredibly smooth, and I can easily wear it to WFH all day long. I can only speak for small-chested gals, so I'm not sure how much support this would have for larger sizes, as it's not padded. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this in multiple colors.

My review: Be sure to read my review of a different Everlane white tee a few slides above when deciding which one will serve your needs the best. Unbuttoned, this one hit right below the pockets. I got it in a medium, which is my normal size. To me, this is the absolute perfect shirt to wear tucked in and with sweaters, jackets, and blazers on top since the crew neckline is very sleek. Compared to the aforementioned Air Oversized Crew Tee, this one feels more polished and would be easier to dress up.

My review: Can you tell I have a thing for stripes? I got this thin, lightweight sweater in my normal size, medium, and I love the slightly oversize fit. I don't wear a lot of formfitting tops, so this one had just enough room to be cozy. For spring and summer, I'll be throwing this one on to face chilly inside air-conditioning. I think it feels very French-chic.
