20 Pretty Outfit Options for Engagement Photos
Nevermind that you have an entire wedding to plan, first thing’s first - engagement photos! You know, the ones you get to commemorate the big step you’re taking as a couple. Considering that these are the photos you’ll likely use on your wedding website and/or save the date, it makes complete sense that you might be having anxiety around your engagement photo outfit. But, fear not! The most successful engagement photos are the ones that keep it simple. You want them to reflect who you are as a couple, which means you should dress like you! Or at least, you on your best day.
You can use the shoot’s setting as a guide, too. If you’re going to a fancy hotel, by all means dress up. A flowy white dress or flouncy skirt and crop top set are both great options for an engagement shoot’s favorite setting: the beach. Maybe you’d like something a little more intimate and would prefer to have photos taken at home with your cat nearby, in which case, jeans with a structured blouse or your favorite sweater will more than suffice.
And remember: your engagement photo outfit does not have to be white. While I have a lot of traditional options in my roundup below, this is a lead up to a celebration which means there’s plenty of fun to be had style-wise and color-wise. So sit back, relax and take a scroll. 20 pretty engagement photo outfits are coming right up.
A midi dress in a ditsy floral print is a great item to have on hand beyond the photo shoot.
You can never go wrong with a Chanel inspired tweed skirt set.
This dress is gorgeous with a capital G. It’s sophisticated, a little bit sexy, a little, dare I say…demure. Your fiancee won’t be able to take their eyes off you, that’s for sure.
Easy, breezy, bridal.
Bring. On. The. Color! I’m a sucker for marigold and this shade would POP in photos.
Unconventional, yes, but I love the idea of an elegant black suit for engagement photos. The pedal pusher pant adds a bit of femininity and fun.
Keep it classic in an A-line dress with a full skirt.
I love the addition of the white tights here.
If your engagement photo outfit is any indicator of what your wedding look will be like…bow down!
This look has autumnal written all over it - it’s ideal for a late fall shoot.
Channel low-key elegance by pairing a decidedly bridal dress with a mother-of-pearl hair clip and raffia flats.
Princess Peach meets upscale garden party.
This set would look fantastic frolicking in the waves during your beach shoot.
An embroidered white mini dress looks equally great in both a natural or urban environment.
You could wear this look again and again and again for so many different occasions. Chic never dies!
I’ll say it again for the cheap seats in the back! Don’t be afraid of color! A smock dress in a pastel or jewel tone is immensely flattering on pretty much all body types.
A neutral dress with sandals in a deep oxblood and undone hair? Perfection if you ask me.
A structural white top with jeans is an easy option that translates well in almost any setting.
I love the ease of this outfit, not to mention the interest that the waist belt adds.
Another option that would look so good on the beach.
