Emma Louise Connolly Practically Forced Me to Buy These 9 Pieces

One of the main requirements in my role as a fashion editor is to know exactly what's happening in the retail space. I scan countless new in sections before breakfast, having also memorised the day top brands have their respective weekly drops (Zara is on Tuesday, FYI).

Essentially, I see just about everything going before someone has had the time to order it, shoot it, and upload it to Instagram. However, there's one person who always seems to have one up on me when it comes to sniffing out new must-haves and trends. And that person is Emma Louise Connolly.

With a penchant for bright hues, eclectic prints and out-of-the-box styling, the model and influencer has become one of the coolest dressers on the fast-fashion scene. What's more, her favourite shopping haunts include Topshop and Nasty Gal, meaning you'll never feel out-priced by her uploads either.

When I feel the need to part with some cash and nothing I've come across has piqued my interest, I turn straight to Emma Louise Connolly. Below, you'll find my latest Emma-inspired shopping list—keep scrolling and soon you'll be crushing on her, too.

1. PINK BLAZER

Style Notes: We love how Emma has given her blazer a Dynasty spin by layering a gold metal belt over the top. Consider this a valuable lesson in '80s chic.

2. WHITE JEANS

Style Notes: White jeans have always been a fashion mainstay, but they're shaping up to be the denim trend of the season. Make like Emma and invest in a pair as soon as possible. Then style them with something cow print for extra S/S 19 kudos.

3. VINYL TRENCH

Style Notes: Emma was one of the first to snap up Topshop's now-sold-out vinyl trench, but PrettyLittleThing has an excellent dupe you can still get your hands on.

4. BRIGHT TEA DRESS

Style Notes: The best thing about springtime is undoubtedly the dresses, and just looking at Emma's blue floral frock has got us in the mood for afternoon Aperols.

5. TIGER PRINT

Style Notes: While she often flirts with snake print, Emma always circles back to tiger motifs. We'd have never guessed this could-be-vintage blouse came from the high street.

6. OVAL SUNGLASSES

Style Notes: With a love of '70s fashion, it's little wonder that oval shades have become Emma's sunglasses of choice. Excuse us while we book ourselves in for a fringe cut at the hairdressers.

7. SARONG SKIRT

Style Notes: Emma's sarong-style skirt is the perfect new-season wardrobe addition. Style it with a chunky blush knit and white boots now and then follow Emma's lead with a simple white tee and mules come summer.

8. EMBELLISHED MULES

Style Notes: Speaking of which, Emma likes her mules flat with gorgeous detailing, like crystal buckles. Luckily, we've found just the thing—and on sale, too.

9. TARTAN TROUSERS

Style Notes: Heritage checks are an integral part of Emma's wardrobe, though tartan seems to be her default setting. Toughen Pimkie's pair up with biker boots or a leather jacket.

Now, see the unexpected boots Victoria Beckham wore. Of course you can shop them too.
