Remember when Emily Ratajkowski got married in a $200 Zara pantsuit back in February? We've been waiting to hear how the surprise wedding went down, and she's finally spilling some new details. In an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Ratajkowski shed some light on her impromptu nuptials.

Specifically, she explained that she nixed a white dress in an effort to go incognito: "I guess I didn't really know what I always wanted to do, which is maybe why it was so untraditional," she told Fallon. "I wore a mustard yellow suit and a black hat, which was all part of my plan to not be noticed. Well, everyone wore suits or sweatsuits, and my husband is good friends with the Fat Jewish on Instagram—they went to high school together, they grew up together—and he wore a white sweatsuit, so I was thinking he would be the decoy. Truly didn't work out quite as I'd imagined."

Ratajkowski also revealed that the proposal was anything but ordinary. "He proposed to me at Minetta Tavern, and he didn't have a ring, so I was like, 'mmm, nah,'" she told Fallon. "And then he took the paper clip that the bill was paid with and made me a ring, which I actually thought was really romantic." Read on to watch the interview in full.

Associate Director, Fashion News

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
