2 Fashion Brands That Will Be Everywhere in 2019—and How I'm Wearing Them
Very frequently, I’m introduced to emerging fashion brands that have recently landed or are about to. Whether by way of press appointments or Instagram sleuthing to find out the new labels fashion insiders are wearing, I discover fresh brands that often inspire the pieces I’m personally adding to my closet. For 2019, there are some on-the-rise fashion labels I’m particularly excited about and have a hunch are about to be everywhere, so I decided to try them out for myself.
First, there’s Rowen Rose, a Paris-based label founded by Emma Rowen Rose that I discovered on Instagram back in September when I spotted some of the most fashion-forward influencers wearing pieces from the brand. Though the pieces won’t be for sale until later this year, the brand already has a fashionable roster of supporters. Street style fixtures like María Bernad, Emili Sindlev, and Ellie Nesmon are early adopters of the label and have been snapped wearing everything from electric suiting to ankle-grazing satin dresses to buttercream vinyl blazers.
Another label that has stolen my heart—and the attention of fashion girls across the industry—is Danish brand Rotate. Co-founded by influencers Thora Valdimars and Jeanette Madsen, the brand is designed to include pieces the two women want to wear themselves. Their debut collection, full of ’80s silhouettes and detailed fabrics, landed at luxury retailer Net-a-Porter—a strong indication of its bright future. Ahead, see how I’m wearing pieces from the brands and why these emerging fashion labels are set to be huge in 2019.
Rowen Rose
At this point, Rowen Rose has only been available by private order but that will all change in February 2019 when the collection hits stores—including Galeries Lafayette, who already snapped up the brand. A cool take on suiting, strong use of color, and attention to detail are hallmarks of the label that have already resonated with the fashion set. Here, see how I'm styling their pieces for myself.
Here, the matching checked set I wore from Rowen Rose's upcoming collection. These immediately caught my eye, and what I love is that there are so many ways you can style them—whether together with a T-shirt like I wore them here or as separates.
The cropped blazer and wide-cut pants take suiting to a place that feels very 2019. Ornate buttons also make the pieces feel elevated beyond your ordinary pantsuit.
Styled underneath, my Hanes x Karla crew tee that I wear with everything.
For a lip, I always turn to this perfect red shade from Charlotte Tilbury.
While I tend to stick to neutral shades, this lilac vinyl-and-lace structured jacket immediately struck me as something special.
In the brand's lookbook, this jacket was styled in a tonal look with a purple satin dress layered underneath.
I styled the jacket with these pants in the darker shade, which have since sold out.
Since I already leaned into bold colors, I added a bold heel from Manolo.

Rotate
My convictions that Rotate will be huge are very evident. I styled Hera Hilmar in the label for Who What Wear's It Girl, It Brand series. I also interviewed co-founder Thora Valdimars to find out more about what we can expect from the brand this year. Here, see how I'm wearing Rotate.
I love the bold shade and versatility of this dress.
As the name says, this highlighter really illuminates your skin so it's something I always wear on the high points of my cheekbones.
The metallic finish and brilliant turquoise color immediately drew me to this dress from Rotate.
