It's Only July, But I Know My Favorite Fall Shoe Trend
When it came to fall 2019 shoe trends, my number one choice faced quite the fierce competitive set. From square-toe shoes that feel very of-the-moment to snake and mock-croc styles which are always worth the investment, I found myself with more favorites than in most seasons, but in the end, one stood out among the rest.
Of course, it’s the embellished heel, which I’ve actually sung the praises of before and thus love even more because it’s a returning trend I already own. However, even if I didn't, can one really argue with the fact that embellished heels are not only beautiful to look at but fun as well? As someone who has relatively simple day-to-day style and pretty much lives in basics, I love the fact that a bejeweled shoe can turn any outfit of my choosing from boring to breathtaking in an instant. Seemingly, some of my favorite designers are on the same page. To see the embellished shoes that walked the F/W 19 runways this past February, plus shop the trend before everyone else, just keep scrolling.
NYC brand Area has been a champion of putting crystals on everything and anything for some time now. I'm glad to see the rest of the world is catching up.
Miu Miu is another brand you can typically turn to for statement shoes year-round, but its F/W runway was rife with even more options than usual.
Sies Marjan's take on the trend was truly breathtaking. I can't wait until this collection begins to hit stores.
I love this atypical pearl placement that will surely move (and draw even more attention to your shoes) while you walk.
In the eyes of the fashion world, Virgil Abloh can do no wrong, which is why his endorsement of this trend is everything.
Versace is one of those brands you can always count on for overstated elegance, and its F/W 19 shoes were no exception to that reputation.
Purple was also a major trend from the F/W runways, so these shoes will be doing double time for the owner.
Up next? I'm obsessed with jewelry, and these are my favorite brands at every budget.
Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here at Who What Wear, and she is currently Editor-at-Large. Upon joining, she was a senior about to graduate from business school at USC. Fast-forward to 2025, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was just starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content and her Trust Me—Buy This newsletter. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to neutral, classic pieces but will always make an exception for something colorful or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a party is dressing up for one. On her downtime, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious and trying to force her husband to watch Summer House.
