I Work In Beauty, Here Are The 22 Beauty Products I’ll Be Using This Eid
Since I was young, getting ready on Eid day has been one of my absolute favourite times of the year. Eid-Al-Fitr follows the month of Ramadan, which is a month of worship, self-reflection, community and fasting. Eid is a time to come together with loved ones after thirty days of observing this blessed month.
For me, the morning of Eid is always joyous for many reasons. Firstly, waking up and being able to have a cup of tea after giving up my morning brew for thirty days is absolute bliss. Ramadan gives you an renewed appreciation for the small things, and this is definitely something I miss the most through the month. I’m lucky to have a huge family, and I love waking up to the bustle of the men returning from the mosque, the sound of all my favourite people gathered in one room, and the delicious smells as my mother and sister-in-law cook up the delicious Pakistani traditional Eid feast.
Then comes the getting ready… I’m sure my family will read this with rolled eyes as every year without fail I am the last to come downstairs but doing my make-up is more than just a routine, it is a ritual, a time of self-care… or at least a time to go through the make-up bags of my sister and cousins as I test and trial all the new things they’ve bought since I last saw them. This year, I’ve rounded up my favourite products for you to try on Eid day.
1. Best Base Products For Eid
For full and flawless coverage, that'll last all day.
Set your make-up with this finely-milled powder that feels light and doesn't take away from a dewy glow.
Blurring, smoothing and illuminating - quite literally bottled glow.
2. Best Brow Products For Eid
Gucci Westman says she 'feels naked' without her brows, and I definitely agree. I love how easy to use this pencil is for shaping brows.
3. Best Lash Products For Eid
An investment, but this is the only lash serum I've seen a truly noticeable difference with.
The most recent launch from Rihanna to give you lashes so extra you'll skip the falsies.
4. Best Eye Makeup Products For Eid
I came for the packaging, I stayed for the formula. These Lid Lustre shadows impart radiance and sparkle in just one easy swipe.
For emphasising the lash line and waterline, this is the best eyeliner I've used in a long time.
I love a stick formula, and this one primes and colours the lid without pulling at the skin. The Camel shade is a winner for all skin tones.
5. Best Cheek Products For Eid
There is nothing like a cream blush for a dewy Eid glow, and this one melts onto the cheeks.
We love this blush for deeper skin tones, as it builds up in intensity for a flush of colour.
The Nars blushes need no introduction—buildable, pigmented and with shades to suit all skin tones.
6. Best Lip Products For Eid
I'm not normally a matte lipstick kind of girl, but these ones from MAC are weightless - devour your Eid meal without a care in the world.
This duo liner and lipstick in Bare make for the perfect deep nude on South Asian skin.
For a softer look, this marbled balm gives a very sheer wash of colour to accentuate your natural lip shade.
7. Best Nail Polish For Eid
These polishes from Nailberry are oxygenated, cruelty free, halal and vegan. The fact they are water permeable makes them permissible for your daily prayers.
8. Best Fragrances For Eid
The sweet, heady perfume that took the world by storm and needs no introduction.
Although Santal 33 is the Le Labo scent worn around the world, I prefer this muskier scent from the brand.
