The 4 Fall Trends Our Editors Are Already Desperate to Wear

Over the next few months, you're going to hear us talk about many trends, most of which we'll be embracing with open arms. However, our wardrobes aren't limitless, meaning we need to be just as thoughtful about the trends we invest in as you are. As such, we thought we'd cancel out all the new-season noise and bring you a concise edit of the fall trends our Who What Wear UK editors are prioritizing buying over the rest.

While they all chose different garments, there's undeniably a common theme: leather. Be it of the real or vegan variety, leather is set to be one of fall/winter 2019's key looks, with jackets and shorts having already caught the eyes of two editors. One editor chose a pair of It boots, while another shortlisted the outfit that offers a chic alternative to jeans and a T-shirt. You know what to do—keep scrolling to see and shop our editors' must-have buys for fall.

"My favorite ankle boots that I've been wearing for about five years have finally had their day (RIP), and I have been eyeing all the beautiful lace-up boots coming in for autumn. I'd ideally have a pair with a heel that is commute-friendly."

ELINOR BLOCK, ASSISTANT EDITOR: LONGLINE LEATHER SHORTS

"Long shorts are the trend I'm keen on trying and, in particular, those faux- or real-leather ones. I honestly never thought I'd say it, as I was very averse to the cycling shorts trend despite how good Kim K. looked in them. But these shorts are looser and somehow that makes me want to try them (probably because they're not so revealing). I've already seen them on so many people of so many different heights and sizes. Every time I see them, I think they look good no matter what. I'd probably wear them with a pair of sandals and a cute blouse to make it less surfer and chicer."

MAXINE EGGENBERGER, WHO WHAT WEAR UK CONTRIBUTOR: PRINTED SKIRT CO-ORDS

"When autumn rolls around, I know that unless I have excellent skirt and dress options at my disposal, I'll default to jeans. As such, I've decided to invest in a chic printed top-and-skirt co-ord. When worn with ankle boots (much like the styles selected by Emma above), I know I'll get just as much wear out of these duos as I would my trusty denim jeans."

JOY MONTGOMERY, FREELANCE SHOPPING EDITOR: FRINGED JACKETS

"I have always been partial to the 'Wild West' aesthetic, especially when it comes with a side serving of '70s styling, and luckily the retro-inspired suede fringed jacket is set to be one of autumn's biggest trends. I've already bought H&M's faux iteration which, I might add, looks far more expensive than its £40 price tag. I'll wear it with straight-leg jeans and snakeskin boots at the weekend and then black tailored trousers and loafers for work. A verified multitasking wardrobe winner."
