And Now, the Classic Luxury Buys Our Editors Will Stand By Forever
It’s no secret that us Who What Wear editors love to find chic buys at a more affordable price point. Of course, there are some great value, classic pieces to be found on the great British high street that will last a long time in your collection. But sometimes, when curating your forever wardrobe, you’re looking to spend a bit more on quality, luxury items that then elevate the rest of your wardrobe effortlessly. And while we do love an expensive-looking bargain, as experts in the industry we also know a thing or two about a smart designer fashion investment.
So, as we're heading through the autumn season, I thought I would ask my fellow editors: what’s on your luxury wish list right now? And their answers didn’t disappoint. We’re talking beautiful, buttery-leather bags, midi dresses and glossy accessories. Pieces that they love now but will also stand by forever. One thing’s for sure, these women know how to elongate someone else’s wish list in a heartbeat—you've been warned.
Below you can see and shop their current luxury shopping picks. Not everything on our lists is wildly expensive—some are little luxuries— but rest assured when they do come with a higher price tag, it’s on there because we believe it’s worth every penny. There’s some all-time classics we’ve been lusting after for a long time, and some fresher new-in pieces that already seem just as timeless. Any one of these buys, though, feels rightly special, and will add polish to your everyday wardrobes for many years to come. Keep scrolling for some luxurious shopping inspiration…

"When it comes to bags, Bottega Veneta can honestly do no wrong. I absolutely adore their woven-style leather bags and have recently been obsessed with their new Large Parachute shoulder bag. From the chic deep brown hue to the easy shoulder straps, this would be the perfect companion for days out and about in the city."
"Surprisingly, I have never been a belt kind of gal, until the Khaite Benny studded belt popped onto the scene. As the weather warms up and I’m wearing less layers, I’m in the market for some fun accessories to style with my autumn looks. And I think the bold studded detailing on this belt easily fits the bill."
"If I could, I would live in a pair super wide-leg jeans. I wear denim all-year round and love wearing loose jeans during springtime. I have been lusting over SLVRLAKE's styles for a while now, especially the Selena wide-leg in this very versatile wash. I can see myself styling these with oversized blazers for the office and a simple tank and sandals for brunches out with my friends."

"The Frankie Shop is known for intentional, simplistic, considered pieces and the quilted padded jacket exemplifies that. As a modern staple of the fashion person's wardrobe, a quilted jacket will work hard in my autumn wardrobe with jeans, shorts and skirts alike. Note the elegant high neckline and soft curved hem."
"We're all aware of the allure of the Margaux bag, a modern icon of The Row. Whilst I've long had this bag on my wish list, this particular style is considerably unique. Featuring an east-west silhouette as well as intricate woven outer, this particular Margaux is a serious forever piece."
"Jewellery is my weakness and although I don’t wear quite as much as I used to all at once, one thing you’ll always find me sporting is a gold earring. This pair from Lié Studio will improve all of my outfits, I just know it."
3. Rebecca Rhys-Evans, Senior Fashion & Beauty Editor: Branded Content
Shop Rebecca's Picks:
"There are two trends I am here for in AW24: mesh and Mary Jane ballet flats. So if I can find items that put them together, you can guarantee they'll be on my wish list. I love how they look with denim on cooler days, and when on those warmer transitional I'll put them with a mini skirt and white shirt for ultimate French Girl styling.'"
"A tank dress remains one of my favourite wardrobe pieces, but Proenza Schouler takes it further with this silhouette. From the fitted top blooms a full skirt with a slight dropped waist for a touch of added elegance. Plus, it features hidden pockets to show the brand's prowess in combining practicality and style."
"With colder days on the horizon I've turned to upgrading my autumn wardrobe into a forever capsule that will go the distance. First things first, an oversized leather tote. As these return each and every year, I'm investing a little more in a truly luxurious style, with plenty of room for dog treats and a good book when strolling through the city."

"This is such a great layering piece that will fit into my minimalist wardrobe. I have a few &Daughter pieces so I can attest to their amazing quality and chicness and this button-up version is just chef’s kiss."
"Imagine how cute the trousers would look with a knit tank and some chunky boots- the perfect autum combo."

"Whilst autumn has only just arrived, the chilly days have begun and I'm already readying my wardrobes for further dips in temperatures. I've set my sights on finding a great coat that has high quality and longevity of style as a focal point. Enter the Toteme scarf coat. Destined to be as cosy as I need it, with an undeniable elegance, this camel coat is about to be a main feature of my wardrobe for years to come."
"One piece I always come back to in the cooler seasons is a midi dress. Without a forever style in my arsenal, I found myself scrolling through Dôen's array of delicate dresses to find this elegant style. Picture this with tan boots and a leather tote, or strappy black heels and clutch."
The new season brings with it a renewed interest in fabrication, with suede drawing most of my attention. Adding in these contrasting textures is an easy way to add depth and added elegance to a look, and I'm bringing both of these to my autumn ensembles with the suede Andiamo. An iconic style for the brand, the Andiamo is understated, anti-trend, and an investment piece that is seriously worth considering.

"This autumn I’m reaching roomy totes over deep smaller shoulder styles every time, and this rich tan Park Tote from The Row is the latest to rise to the top of my wish list."
"I've been looking for a chunky black boot to help me skirt London's puddles in style, and Bally's generously cut Pongo boots are exactly the silhouette I've been picturing. Climbing up just past the ankle, with a wide and comfortable cut, these casual boots are about to become my most-reached-for pair."
"Ideal for a brimming autumn calendar, this pretty top is destined to be a key player for all elegant plans. With a sleek asymmetrical design and exquisite draping, The Row has shown off its craftspersonship with this timeless piece."
7. Poppy Nash, Managing Editor
"I’ve been a Puzzle bag fan for most of my adult life but this autumn I want a slightly more interesting shape to elevate my autumn looks. The Paseo is just as iconic, and I know that this khaki shade will go with ever one of my outfits, all year round."
"I recently got engaged and so am fully in my bridal era and opting for white for every occasion this autumn. Something on my wish list is a does-it-all mini like this Molly Goddard style. I’d wear it with suede boots and a blazer to the office, strappy heels with I go out for drinks with my girlfriends, and Birkenstocks on holiday."
"Can you tell I am in full autumn mode now that the cooler weather has made an appearance? I’m in major need of a new pair of comfy yet chic boots. This low-heeled croc pair is just as good for travelling as they are for wandering the city, exploring villages and dinners out."
