I Made a Shopping List of the Key Summer Trends to Update Your Wardrobe
There’s a strong chance you have a few permanent fixtures in your summer wardrobe. For example, you may have a go-to pair of denim shorts you wear on the regular or a pair of classic black sandals you slip into quite often. Well, if you’re interested in sprucing up your offering with a few new items, you’re going to be intrigued by what’s coming your way.
After researching a variety of trends, testing pieces out, and consulting my fellow fashion editors, I identified a curation of summer trends that I think could be key to creating that up-to-date–feeling wardrobe. While the shopping list below certainly doesn’t encompass everything, it features those special pieces that are not only chic but also versatile. You know, modern items that could be worn with many different outfits.
Keep scrolling to check out a curation of seven trends that could be worth testing out this season.
Colorful Button-Down Shirts
Oversize button-downs continue to trend hard, especially in vibrant colors like this pick from The Frankie Shop.
Cropped Tanks
A standard ribbed tank will be a forever staple, but it’s the cropped styles that will bring an easy and forward twist to your summer wardrobe.
Bold Shoes
Bold footwear is turning out to be a top choice among the fashion crowd to make a statement.
Pieces With Cutouts
Cutouts are a key detail, showing up on everything from dresses to tops.
Heeled Flip-Flops
If you’re looking for another strong shoe choice, consider a pair of heeled flip-flops for an elevated silhouette.
Printed Pants
Of course, your favorite loose jeans will be no-fail, but so will fun, printed pants for an eye-catching moment.
Bucket Hats
A bucket hat will bring that instantly cute spin to any summer look.
