3 Spring Trends That Basically Style Themselves (and My Outfits to Prove It)
For months, we were dissecting the spring 2021 trends on deck for the season, but now that the flowers are in full bloom and the sun has greeted us once again, it's time to actually discuss how to wear all the new silhouettes that are flooding the market. Yes, friends, let's talk outfit ideas.
Now, of all the spring trends out there, I've cherry-picked three—puff sleeves, matching sets, and nap dresses—that I think are the most wearable of all. Not only do they take little to no effort to style, but they're also just what the doctor ordered if you're ready to burn your sweats and wear real clothes again.
To show you exactly what I mean, I put together three easy outfits with the on-trend pieces from our Who What Wear collection at Target. You can be the judge, but I happen to think I did a pretty good job. Ahead, get inspired by these three looks, and get ready to hit the easy button on spring dressing.
The Trend: Puff sleeves are easily one of the most wearable trends in the game right now. I don't know anyone they don't suit really well or any occasion they wouldn't be appropriate for. I, for one, kind of like that they're not the newest trend by any means, because their staying power proves how timeless of a silhouette they ultimately are.
How I'm Wearing It: Our Puff Sleeve Gathered Dress is one of those pieces that serve as their own outfit. In other words, it hardly needs to be styled in a certain way to look good, and the black-and-white floral print only helps with how easy it is to wear. I paired it with black knee-high boots and a white shoulder bag here but could also see it worn as a top if you leave the bottom unbuttoned—the level of creativity is up to you.
Shop puff sleeves:
The Trend: It's not hard to see why these lightweight, flowy frocks—dubbed nap dresses—are taking off. They tap into the idyllic cottagecore aesthetic, but I think they're so popular because they're a more stylish alternative to sweats.
How I'm Wearing It: Since the dress has plenty of volume already, I think it's best styled with sleek and simple accessories, of which I have many in my closet. And any piece that allows me to get the most wear out of my simple black bags, jackets, and shoes is a worthy staple in my opinion.
Shop nap dresses:
The Trend: If you really want to hit easy mode, there's nothing more brainless than a matching set. Coordinating separates are pretty much a ready-made outfit, so it's not hard to see why everyone loves them—they do the work for you.
How I'm Wearing It: My mind was swirling with all the ways I could wear the Puff Sleeve Ruffle Detail Top and High-Rise Shorts from our line, but realistically, this is the way I can see myself wearing them over and over again: with a simple bodysuit tucked in and finished with low-heeled slides, retro sunglasses, and a solid bandana.
