I love to get away whenever the opportunity arises. I mean, who doesn’t like an adventure? With 2024 winding down, I am thinking of some end-of-the-year getaways to check off my 2024 travel bucket list. I already have a cozy cabin trip to Upstate New York and an international trip to Guatemala for my best friend’s birthday, so now that those are on my calendar, it’s time to focus on the important things: what I’m going to wear, both on the trip and on my travel days.

This led me down a rabbit hole searching for the perfect casual but stylish airport outfits with a touch of sophistication that I can turn to when I have a trip on the calendar. I found five that checked all my boxes. Plus, a few are comprised of classic basics I already have in my closet.

Keep scrolling to see the five airport outfits I'm saving for the rest of my trips in 2024.

Matching Sweat Set

There is nothing like a good sweat set for a travel day. The key to making this outfit look more put together is the right colors and the perfect low-key but cool sneakers. I love the bold red Emili Sindlev chose above, but lately, I’ve been leaning more toward neutral hues like the one I linked below. I also added my favorite wireless headphones because ever since I got my hands on them, I don’t travel without them. Trust me, you’re going to love them.

Belted Wool Jacket + Jeans + Flat Shoes + Tote Bag

The best thing about a wool wrap coat is it works as a glorified blanket, making it perfect for when you want to catch up on your sleep on the plane. It has a casual chicness, which I love, and while I tend to opt out of wearing jeans to the airport, this outfit makes the idea feel approachable.

Shop the look:

Flared Leggings + Tank + Sunnies

A good flared legging and tank top outfit is perfect for a travel day since no matter the destination I’m traveling to, it’s probably a good idea to have both items on me. This outfit would be one I would reach for if I were going on a warm-weather vacation, but I tend to get chilly on planes, so I highly recommend throwing a cardigan in your carry-on.

Shop the look:

Crewneck Sweater + Jeans + Trench Coat

This travel look is one of those you wear when you know you have plans immediately upon arrival. Plus, it works with almost any flat shoe you can think of, but I would go with a good pair of sneakers.

Shop the look:

Double Denim

I’m a huge fan of a Canadian tuxedo, and after seeing Chrissy Rutherford’s double-denim travel look, I was inspired to give it a try myself. I would wear this outfit when traveling to a destination that I want to look chic in as soon as I touch down.
