We're still very much in summer, but as we sort through the latest collections, our fashion-editor minds are already thinking about fall and the latest trends. On that note, we thought we'd share a few of the key autumn trends we're into and already wearing and/or shopping for inspiration. On the flip side, we thought we'd highlight a few of the items we probably won't go for this season. Of course, it's important to remember that all of this is based on personal preference, and you should just wear what you love.

Keep scrolling to check out chic trends that will be front-runners in our wardrobes come fall, including noteworthy dress and outerwear silhouettes. You'll also notice a smattering of product recommendations if you're looking to do a bit of shopping now during summer or save and reference these finds next month.

Buying: Maxi Dresses

Not as Into: Shackets

"I know shackets have become almost like a fall staple at this point, but I've never found them too flattering on me. Most in the market are shorter ones, and they make me look a tad boxy, so I'll be passing on buying any this fall. A trend I'm ready to dive into? Maxi hemlines. I'll be pairing all my sweaters with maxi skirts and boots or layering them over maxi dresses. I've always been an avid maxi lover, so I'm excited to play around with the style more now that there are more shopping options!"

Buying: Maxi Skirts

Not as Into: Faux Fur

"Longer lengths are speaking to me right now, so I'm currently on a maxi-skirt buying spree. Not only are they great for now, but they're also so practical later on in the fall. It's wonderful not having to worry about tights! Cooling down is faux fur. It just seems a little over-the-top, which is in stark contrast to my obsession with everything sleek."

Buying: Leather Jackets

Not as Into: Sweater-Vests

"I probably won't be buying any sweater-vests this year, as I didn't find them to be all that flattering on me, and I feel that the trend has cooled off. On the flip side, I've been holding off on ordering an oversize leather jacket since it's been so hot, but I'm ready to splurge this fall."

Buying: Leather Blazers and Moto Jackets

Not as Into: Fitted Blazers

"I have to echo Ally above. I'm very much feeling moto jackets and also leather blazers. I have one from John Varvatos already that I adore, and I also love the styles from AllSaints. I'm into oversize blazers and cropped styles in relaxed silhouettes, but not as into super-fitted blazers."

Buying: White Tanks

Not as Into: Knee-High Lug-Sole Boots

"Chunky knee-high boots have been everywhere for the last few seasons, so I expect to see them lose some steam this fall. There are many trends on my radar for fall from the fall/winter 2022 runways that are grabbing my attention, from floor-sweeping hemlines to updated takes on corsets, and I'm already shopping the white-tank-top trend—as seen in the Prada collection—that is set to be huge for the season ahead."

Buying: Bomber Jackets

Not as Into: Puffer Jackets

"I'm probably going to pass on buying another puffer jacket this fall (I own way too many already), and instead, I'll be investing in a cool bomber jacket—a style that's going to be big news this upcoming fall season. There were so many chic iterations on the runways, from shrunken suede ones at Miu Miu through to supersized satin styles at Prada. Now, I just have to decide which style to get."
