Desi Perkins Says This Face Mask Is Like Drinking 8 Glasses of Water—I'm Sold

Let's flash back to 17-year-old me, who spent weekday afternoons bingeing YouTube videos while all anyone could hear from outside my bedroom door was, "Hey guys! Welcome back to my channel," on a loop. On many of these afternoons, while my eyes were glued to the screen and I made mental notes of which products to buy over the weekend, it was Desi Perkins's voice coming out of my laptop speakers. When her videos popped up in my subscription box, I was ready to receive any and all of her advice, from winged-eyeliner tutorials and eye shadow–palette reviews to hair how-tos. Fast-forward seven years, and I'm still turning to Perkins for beauty advice. But naturally, we've both evolved: She's an online sensation and entrepreneur with eyewear and skincare brands, and I'm a fashion and beauty editor who can buy as many of her top picks as I want and share them all with you.
Perkins has spent most of her career in front of the camera serving us full glam looks that fill our saved folders on Instagram, so it's no surprise that she emphasizes the importance of skin health. "I had pretty temperamental skin growing up. I had acne on my cheeks, and it trickled into adulthood, which is why I became so interested in skin health and later went on to start my own skincare line," says Perkins. Dezi Skin is all about powerful formulas that actually work (not to mention their beautiful packaging), and that's a mission I can get behind.
I've considered Perkins my own personal source of expert skincare and beauty tips since I was a teenager, so needless to say, I'm taking notes on the advice she's dropping now. When it comes to skincare, Perkins is a firm believer in the idea that what you put inside your body has a direct impact on your skin, but when she wants a little something extra, she turns to laser facials. "I feel if you are going to splurge, you want to do it on something that works, and there are many out there for different problem areas. Speaking of lasers, laser hair removal was also incredible!" she says. But ultimately, Perkins's beauty and skincare advice is simple (like, three-words simple): Don't overdo it. BRB—I need to go write this on my bathroom mirror. "Target what your skin concerns are, and create a simple routine," says Perkins. Below, she's sharing the products that make up her own simple routine, so keep scrolling for her recs. (And maybe grab a pen).
"This has completely changed my skin and made it bright and glowy."
"Vieve Skin Dew is the best makeup item to give you that glass-skin look without too much shimmer."
"I love Olly's Perfect Women’s Multi. These are great because they get my day started and are a yummy berry flavor."
"I always feel great energy. Plus, it gives my skin a boost."
"This product has helped my postpartum hair loss so much. I really feel like my hair is growing back so quickly."
"This is the best facial mist ever! It truly helps give your skin a glow while keeping your makeup looking more like skin. It has the most beautiful finish. I even add it to a sponge and put it on my under-eye area after makeup to hydrate and avoid any dryness under the eye."
"This is my favorite mask, especially for these drier months because it's like giving your skin eight glasses of water. I apply it at night and wake up with hydrated, bouncy skin."
"This tool is a splurge, but it's several tools in one, so I justify it. This gives you the perfect blowout look every time. I also love the technology that keeps my hair healthier."
"This just makes my hair feel great. My hair feels soft, and this product smells amazing."
"This is one of my go-to body lotions. It's nothing fancy but leaves my skin looking so glowy and hydrated. It's a must."
"This foundation feels thin but has beautiful coverage. It dries down to a satin, glowy finish. I put my mom onto this foundation as well, and I can always tell when she has it on because it's just so nice and natural-looking."
"This product is great for that glass-hair look. When I want a sleek, no-frizz hairstyle, I love to use this product. It's also great for humidity to keep your style frizz-free."
"I love these so much! I have a hard time sleeping because my mind is always 'on.' These gummies really help balance my sleep, which helps me function better during the day."
"This is the perfect product for when I put my hair up. It helps fill in your hairline in any sparse areas without looking like too much. I lost a lot of hair postpartum, so this comes in handy to make my ponytails look cleaner and thicker around the hairline."
"These lashes are just a great and easy everyday lash for me. I find they look the most natural and are also great to add individual lashes to in order to build them up for a more dramatic look."
