Further Proof That This "Ugly" Color Is Taking Over

Now and again, a new trend is met with some resistance when it first surfaces. Remember how everyone's initial reactions to Birkenstocks? Usually all it takes is a few style stars to hop on the trend and find updated ways to style it before it becomes accepted by the fashion crowd.

The latest trend to do so is fall's unexpected trendy hue—brown. While the typically polarizing color first took center stage on the runways of Stella McCartney, Prada, and Ralph Lauren, the color has now made its way into the closet of one very fashionable celeb. Dakota Johnson was spotted leaving a Radiohead concert in Los Angeles this week in a seriously cool brown knit sweater.

She gave the neutral an edgy update by styling it with gray skinny jeans, block-heeled boots, swingy retro earrings, and just a peek of a leopard belt. This ensemble is proof that like it or not, this earthy hue isn't going anywhere anytime soon. It also goes to show that the right hue and styling can make this trend feel completely forward and fashionable.
