From June through September, I plan to spend as many weekends as humanly possible relaxing by a pool, a beach, or both. And as summer “officially” starts on June 21, I have exactly two weeks to get my swimsuit collection into gear (i.e., upgrade my age-old black one-piece to something a little jazzier). To inspire my new-season swimsuit purchases, I’m turning to Instagram for this summer’s must-have swimwear trends—as seen on some of my favorite Insta influencers. Ruffles

Whether bold and dramatic or sweet and minimal, ruffle detailing has been on the rise for the last few seasons and is set to be a huge hit this summer. Add one of these romantic and playful designs to your swimsuit inventory asap.

Polka-dot prints have been all over the runways in the past year and are now coming to a swimsuit near you. Wear your spots small on a retro bikini or big and bold against a bright color. Either way, a polka-dot bikini will never go out of style.
