You thought you were familiar with tote bags until this trend rolled around. Designers have redefined the idea of oversize carryalls, as they churned out handbags that are, simply put, massive. Basically, your go-to beach bag needs a giant makeover. (Pun intended.)

You can't fully immerse yourself in summer without wearing a swimsuit or two. For those of you who prefer not to strut around in a teeny tiny bikini all day, you're in luck. The S/S 17 runways proved that mixing your swimwear with your everyday clothing is officially a trend. The only rule is to make sure your suits are top-notch, meaning they make enough of a statement to pass as an actual item of clothing.

Pool slides are clearly no joke in the fashion community, and while you may initially giggle at the outrageous slides we saw come down the runway this season, we have a feeling you'll quickly be converted. Flat slide sandals with 3-D flowers atop are already infiltrating the high and low fashion markets. So this summer, swap your athletic-inspired slides for a pair of these blooming ones.

Translucent sunnies have been rapidly making their mark in the fashion world as of late, but this summer, the only colour you need to focus on is pink. All shapes and sizes of sunnies in this trend are welcome, the only requirement for entry is lenses with a rosy hue to ensure you'll be seeing pink all summer long.

While floral dresses for summer might initially seem redundant, we need you to take a closer look. The floral prints this season have evolved and morphed into murals consisting of all things brighter, bolder and more tropical. Whether you're going on a vacation or not, ditch the floral print you are accustomed to for frocks that make people stop and stare.
