7 Comfy Vacation Outfit Ideas That Won't Make You Look Like a Tourist
When packing for a vacation, it can sometimes feel like you have to pick between dressing for comfort and dressing for style. Are you going to feel relaxed in vaguely touristy gear (a backpack, sneakers, and shorts, anyone?) or get that really cute OOO ’gram? Accommodating both needs (because let’s face it, vacation snaps are a need) is an art, and it happens to be part of Aimee Song’s job. Song travels constantly for work and has to look stylish doing it, so she’s become a pro at striking the balance.
Naturally, when she launched her debut full-fledged line, Song of Style, she wanted to create pieces that integrate seamlessly in her life. "I didn’t want to create outfits that only look good in photos and then you can’t wait to take it off,” shared Song. "As an influencer, it is important for me to make my collection not about an Instagram outfit. I wanted to create outfits where you want to wear it the entire day, and you want to wear it again.” Accordingly, her pieces work just as well in everyday life as they do when traveling. Recently, Song and a group of her friends gathered in Portugal to celebrate the launch with Revolve, and the resulting photos are a testament to how well the collection looks IRL. And these weren’t just outfits put on for a quick photo shoot. Rather, they were worn all day in comfort while exploring Lisbon’s best hidden gems. Scroll down to see and shop the best-selling collection, and if you’re as impressed with the line as this author is, check out how she started her namesake brand, straight from Song herself.
This dress has just a touch of spandex, which makes it extra comfortable for being on the go all day.
For hot summer days, there's no better combination than a cute crop top and a high-waisted breezy midi skirt.
Shop the matching Ada Skirt ($228).
Shorts are a go-to travel staple. Rather than opting for a basic T-shirt, elevate the ensemble with a mismatched crop-top set. The pastel colors feel spot-on for warm weather.
Festive prints are a wonderful way to channel vacation you—you know, the girl who's down for anything and living her best life. Pair with comfortable sneakers so you can wander for miles.
Shop the matching Kaia Midi Skirt ($188).
It's always a good idea to pack at least one dress that can transition to a more upscale dinner. This white lace number fits the bill.
If you have any swim activities planned, consider an oversize printed top or blazer for a stylish cover-up.
The beauty of packing a suitcase full of pretty dresses is you don't have to think about mixing and matching. Just add your most comfortable sandals and go.
