6 Looks We Styled Using New Pieces From Our Favorite Clothing Rental Service
Sponsor Content Created With Lauren Ralph Lauren
Maybe it's the start of a new year, or maybe I've just spent too much time on social media lately, but I could not be more underwhelmed by my wardrobe right now. Some mornings I stare into my closet and feel like I have nothing exciting to wear, and others I say to myself, "If my wardrobe only had [fill in the blank], this outfit would be perfect." Since it's unrealistic for me to invest in a brand-new wardrobe (bummer, right?), I've found a solution that's a bit more realistic.
Enter The Lauren Look, a rental subscription service that offers a constantly refreshed wardrobe for only $125 a month—and as a little treat, Who What Wear is gifting you the first month. From special-occasion dresses to everyday trend-focused items, it has so many chic Lauren Ralph Lauren pieces available to borrow as long as you like (yes, really). You get four pieces per shipment but can swap them out an unlimited amount of times each month. But don't take my word for it—three Who What Wear editors tested out the service for a month and are spilling all of the details (plus their stylish looks).

Why are you hooked on The Lauren Look?
I inevitably end up with pieces that don't get enough wear, whether it's a trend that just doesn't work in my wardrobe or something that didn't fit quite right. There's nothing that can replace the experience of trying something on before committing to a purchase, and The Lauren Look's subscription service makes that easy. I can pick out new things to wear to have a steady stream of new looks and add them to my wardrobe permanently at exclusive prices after I've had a chance to test-drive them.
Why did you choose this top?
No one does classic pieces better than Ralph Lauren, which is why the brand has been a staple in my closet since I was a kid. While I already have a collection of their button-downs, (yes, I'm obsessed), I wanted to test-drive its latest silhouette since the tops are truly the backbone of my wardrobe. It doesn't get more simple than pairing one with jeans and slingbacks for an easy everyday look. While I may have rented this top, the fit proved to be so good that I'm giving it a permanent spot in my wardrobe.

Why did you choose this sweater?
When it comes to seasonal pieces like this cable-knit sweater, I don't get much of a chance to wear them since I live in L.A. and our winter season is so short. Instead of stocking up on a huge collection of cold-weather items, it makes so much sense to have on-trend seasonal pieces on rotation when I actually need them. This season, cable-knit sweaters are having a moment, so that's the first piece I wanted to add to my winter wardrobe. Styled with a pantsuit and sneakers, this tonal look is exactly the palette cleanser I want to slip into for 2022.

Why are you hooked on The Lauren Look?
The Lauren Look subscription is so practical for my NYC lifestyle (and tiny closet). I'm constantly on the go in the city and attend a lot of events and gatherings, so I often only wear pieces once before they're left sitting in my closet. With this subscription service, I can switch up my wardrobe as often as I want without the hassle of paying for new items or having to re-wear and restyle statement pieces.
Why did you choose this dress?
Kelly green was an It color in 2021, and it's projecting to trend in 2022 also, so I thought it was perfect to rent. This gown is so fitting for a formal evening event, but it's definitely a statement piece that I would probably only wear once. The ability to rent this dress is a savior for my bank account and closet.

Why did you choose this skirt and top?
This houndstooth skirt with gold buttons works for so many occasions: going into the office, meetings, brunches, and dinners. The Lauren Look allows you to rent items for as long as you'd like, and this skirt will definitely live in my closet for a while so that I can style it in multiple ways. The ribbed turtleneck is a classic winter staple, and these items paired together make for an elevated look that's still fun and edgy, especially when worn with chunky boots and fun accessories.

Why are you hooked on The Lauren Look?
I tend to regret buying things for specific trips or occasions, later realizing that they don't really vibe with the rest of my wardrobe and my typical lifestyle. I also get bored with my wardrobe pretty easily and always like to have something new to wear. The Lauren Look is a low-commitment way to keep your wardrobe fresh and exciting. Plus, it's a really great source of chic, high-quality basics, which we can all always use more of.
Why did you choose this knit dress?
I actually don't own many fall and winter dresses. I get cold easily and usually prefer to just wear jeans or trousers. That said, I do wish I had more of them to wear from time to time, so I decided to try this sweater dress. It's also a bit more form-fitting than dresses I usually wear, so trying it out first was a no-brainer. I was surprised by how comfortable it is, and the length makes it ideal to wear with an oversize blazer and knee-high boots.

Why did you choose this top?
I wear jeans a lot, so I'm constantly on the hunt for cute tops to wear with them. I love that this top has such a classic Ralph Lauren print, and I think that an equestrian look is very chic this time of year. It's also pretty memorable, so I don't know that I'd want to wear it over and over. For that reason, I think that renting it is smart.
