We Predict This New Chanel Bag Will Be Just as Iconic as the 2.55
While the Chanel Boy bag is an It-girl favourite, and the 2.55 is a timeless classic, there’s a new Chanel bag on the block, and we think you might want to put it on your radar. Introducing the Chanel 19, the brand-new, single-flap crossbody bag we’ve already spotted on the arms of several influencers.
Created as a homage to the Chanel 2.55 (which was first made in February 1955), the Chanel 19 was also named after the year of its design and features the brand’s signature quilted fabrication. Making history already, the 19 happens to be one of the last bags to debut under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld, as it was first launched on the A/W 19 runway just weeks after he passed. Though, if that’s not enough to make you want it, its elegant design will certainly persuade you.
Available in lambskin, tweed wool and jersey, the 19 features all the classic elements of a Chanel bag—including an interlocking CC clasp, and chain strap detailing—but is finished with thoroughly modern updates, such as bright new colourways and a soft, slouchier structure.
Already in the possession of fashionable favourites, including Lucy Williams, Tamu McPherson and Aimee Song, the Chanel 19 is set to be one of 2020’s most coveted items.
