The Pretty Shoe Trend That's on the Cusp of Blowing Up
There’s a new shoe trend in town, and unlike a handful of other footwear fads we’re seeing on the horizon for the coming season, I think it’s one that everyone can get behind because, well, it’s just lovely. That’s right: Pretty chain details are showing up on a handful of new spring shoe styles to hit the internet already, and at this pace, we’re only expecting the momentum to continue. After all, when every brand from Bottega Veneta and Saint Laurent to Topshop and Zara is on board, you know you've got something worth paying attention to, and this trend definitely falls into that category. At least, that's what our friends at Net-a-Porter told us when they presented their S/S 20 trend report to a group of editors back in November. To see and shop all of the chain-embellished pumps, sandals, flats, and even sneakers we're loving right now, just keep scrolling.
I don't need to tell you that Manolo always gets it right.

These also come in tan, and it was a close race between the two. Either way, you can't go wrong.

Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here at Who What Wear, and she is currently Editor-at-Large. It was a less expected route, seeing as she was graduating from business school at USC when this all began, but it has turned out to be the best one for her. Fast-forward to 2024, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was an intern starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to classic pieces and neutral basics but will always make an exception for something colorful, printed, or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a good party is dressing up for one. On weekdays, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious for dinner and trying to force her husband to watch Summer House.
