7 Sustainable Fashion Brands Emma Watson and Kate Middleton Love
I wouldn't blame you for raising a cynical eyebrow about celebrities wearing sustainable fashion. It is much easier to purchase sustainable clothing, which is nearly always expensive when you have the funds to do so. While I tend to agree, there is still one important point to consider: If the A-list are willing to get on the green fashion bandwagon, then the message about sustainable clothing is amplified and reach more consumers in a way that traditional advertising cannot do. It also gets rid of the very dated assumption that green, ethical and sustainable fashion is all about shapeless hemp sacks and makes it feel much more glamorous.
The celebrities who have often backed sustainable brands include Emma Watson, who has pledged to only wear designers and labels that fit this criterion, the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex. But there are other megawatt stars who have often worn sustainable brands that are worth knowing about. Keep scrolling to see the seven sustainable designers and brands that A-listers love.
Beulah
The DoC has worn this brand on many occasions. Known for its dresses, Beulah is a local London label that aims to empower trafficked women through meaningful employment opportunities. The brand also donates 10% of all profits to projects and partners to help vulnerable communities.

Stella McCartney
Worn by plenty of celebrities throughout the years, Stella McCartney is a brand that has always refused to use fur or leather. Now, the brand is committed to using materials that have the least impact on the environment by making all its garments from organic cotton, forest-friendly fibres, recycled polyester and regenerated cashmere. Find the brand's classic tailored pieces or shop for more statement dresses.

Reformation
On the more affordable side of the sustainable-brands landscape is Reformation. The brand, which is based in L.A., has a strong celebrity following although this dress worn by Jenna Coleman in 2015 remains one of our favourites. Best for pretty dresses, blouses and even jeans.

Gucci
You might be surprised to discover that Gucci is carbon neutral, but the brand has invested in ensuring that it's offsetting all its greenhouse gas emissions produced during the supply chain. First came the ban on using PVC in 2015 and as of last week, the brand revealed it’s now carbon neutral. The Italian house now uses recycled plastics, recycled metals for jewellery, upcycled material scraps and has been increasing its use of organic materials such as silk and cotton. You can read more about Gucci's sustainable practices here.

Veja
As well as being one of the most popular sneaker brands out there, Veja is loved by various celebrities including Meghan Markle and Emma Watson. The sneakers are also in the more affordable range being just over £100 (what you'd probably, on average, pay for a pair of Adidas or Nike trainers).

Bottletop
Emma Watson is consistent about her support of only wearing sustainable clothing. Most recently, on the press tour for Little Women, she wore a bag by Bottletop. The brand only uses upcycled metal ring pulls to create its signature chain mail fabric and the organisation now has its own atelier and training programmes in Brazil and Nepal. It also counts Gigi Hadid and Jessica Alba as fans.

Mara Hoffmann
One of the most enjoyable aspects of sustainable clothing today is that it's much more varied than before. Mara Hoffmann is one brand that proves this. The eponymous label's style DNA is very much beach-inspired. Floaty dresses, loose trousers and tied crop tops are what you can expect but with the likes of Margot Robbie supporting the brand, you know it's chic.
