How 7 Over-50 Celebs Do Summer Airport Style

Airport style is a tricky thing. One one hand, we want to feel as comfortable as possible (easier said than done, especially in the summer). On the other hand, it's not only about comfort. After all, the airport is a busy place. We see a lot of people while traveling, and a lot of people see us. We need to live up to our fashionable reputation (we like to think we have one), which means a tattered tank top and sweats just won't do. It's a fine line, but there's certainly a balance between feeling comfortable (and cool) and looking stylish. Celebrities strike that balance all the time. In fact, there are a few over-50 celebs who have reduced airport style down to a cold, hard science, and we have the pictures to prove it. Keep scrolling to see how seven over-50 celebs do summer airport style.

We think that Courtney Cox's style is underrated, and that applies to her airport style, too. To catch a flight out of LAX, she wore a simple striped shirt with ankle jeans, black sneakers, and a matching leather backpack. She topped it all off with a pair of cool tinted glasses.

We can't decide what's better: Halle Berry's cool-girl fringe and wavy hair, or her silk duster jacket and little black boots. Take notes, because this is exactly how you layer an airport outfit.

Julianne Moore makes the airport her runway after landing in France for the Cannes Film Festival. How cool does she look? We're obsessed with the way she paired a black blazer with cropped trousers, black slip-on shoes, and (what else?) a Louis Vuitton crossbody bag.

Elle Macpherson looks every bit the supermodel that she is, wearing this all-white monochrome outfit to board a flight out of Sydney in late summer. She wears a white formfitting top with matching trousers, tossing a lightweight duster coat over the top.

We love Salma Hayek's summer airport style, which looks just as comfortable as it does effortlessly stylish. To replicate her look, all you need is a denim jacket, cropped trousers, and platform sneakers (and a certain aloof facial expression when met with a gaggle of paparazzi at the gate).

Cindy Crawford's style can be described in one word: sleek. She wears dark, sleek separates, even in the warmer months (this photo was taken in the spring).

Michelle Obama probably doesn't fly coach like we do, but she certainly dresses for a summertime flight the way we do. Her gingham sundress is light and breezy to contend with hot temperatures, while dark sunglasses, a structured handbag, and matching headband, keep it looking polished and powerful (just like we would expect from a first lady).
