From Holly to Rosie, Basically Every Celeb Loves This Cult £12 Skin Product
Let's face it: When it comes to incredible skin, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's complexion is right up there with the best of the bunch. In fact, I can only dream of skin that will reach that level of light-reflective radiance. Of course, Rosie isn't alone in her insane luminosity—great skin is pretty much the first matter of business in the celebrity handbook. Think of any A-lister and I can guarantee that their skin will boast the kind of ethereal glow that most of us can only dream of. Which is why, as a beauty editor, I have pretty much made it my mission to seek out the products that celebrities genuinely use to give us regular folk a chance of enjoying those regular good skin days too.
So when I discovered that there was a certain £12 skin product that a whole host of celebrities swear by, I couldn't wait to spill the beans. The fact that it's a French pharmacy favourite? Well, that's just a bonus.
The product in question is the Caudalie Beauty Elixir—a 100% natural facial mist with a cult following of beauty editors, celebrities and stylish French girls. The inspiration behind the product is taken from an infamous 16th-century youth elixir that the Queen of Hungary reportedly swore by. In fact, the story goes that she managed to woo the King of Poland because the results were so good.
While Caudalie's take on this fabled skin product won't turn back the clock on your skin (and why would you want to?), it does boast a multitude of uses and certainly passes the radiance test.
"I discovered Caudalie backstage at a fashion show like 10 years ago [and] it's been one of those products that I've really kept with me ever since," Rosie explained in an interview with W. "It's a product you can use all day, every day throughout your day. There's no right or wrong way to use it, and it just feels incredible.
It's such a revival for the skin, it's a great way to set makeup, I love it use on a hot day, or even just to have one in my handbag. It's brilliant for traveling, it's fantastic for keeping the skin supple and glowy and moisturised during flights and certainly great when you're landing after a long redeye." High praises indeed.
And it's not just Rosie who loves the Caudalie Beauty Elixir—Holly Willoughby, another woman whose skin always looks luminous, swears by it too. "For anyone who wakes up really early in the morning or just sometimes needs a spritz of life, there's this lovely brand called Caudalie—and the product is called Beauty Elixir," she revealed on the Beauty Full Lives podcast.
"It's like a spray toner [and] I put it on at work. I get to work, Patsy has got it there and I spritz myself. And I don't know what's in it, but it just zings you! It's lovely on your skin. Your makeup sits really nicely on top of it."
Even VB is a full-fledged member of the Caudalie Beauty Elixir fan club, taking to social media to declare her love for it. "Caudalie gives you a glowing complexion. Use it on top of your makeup," Beckham said on Twitter.
Celebrities aside, Caudalie's Beauty Elixir has been a long-term favourite of stylish French women long before it was readily available in the UK. Turns out that the fragrant mix of rose, peppermint and rosemary essential oils don't just smell incredibly uplifting but they actually provide an instant radiance boost to skin. Mist it over clean skin to smooth fine lines and tighten pores, over makeup to set your products in place (an industry insider tip used by top makeup artists) or throughout the day to boost luminosity and calm the senses. It's a true multitasker with genuine cult status.
