From the Airport to the Streets, These Casual Celeb Outfits From Cannes Are It

Gawping at red carpet looks where stars are dripping in diamonds and wrapped in layers of tulle is the purest form of fashion escapism, but there's nothing quite as satisfying at spotting a celebrity look that you love and could genuinely wear as you go about your daily business. Such is the brilliance of Cannes Film Festival. By night, the attendees pull out all the couture stops for premieres and step-and-repeat photo ops but, by day, they're navigating the sun-filled streets of the French Riviera in low-key but elevated outfits which, I'd argue, are even more compelling. Especially to this fashion editor who is currently looking for fresh outfit ideas to kickstart the summer with.
As an antidote to the fanciful ensembles which command the headlines, today, I've decided to focus my energy on chronicling the aforementioned casual outfits I've loved from Cannes 2023 so far. From the ensembles they wore to touch down in Nice airport to the looks they've chosen for lunching and mingling, scroll on to see my favourite casual Cannes outfits, and to shop the key piece you need to re-create each for yourself.
