This year's Cannes Film Festival has brought us many great surprises. From Kate Moss making her first appearance on the red carpet at Cannes in 15 years to Victoria Beckham bringing back a classic '90s look, we've been truly spoilt.
Other brilliant moments have included Kristen Stewart finally looking comfortable in front of the paparazzi and wearing more Chanel than we thought feasibly possible (our jealously is hard to contain sometimes). Then there's Blake Lively, who's managed to make her seriously jaw-dropping gowns into the most glamorous maternity-wear we've ever seen.
While we loved the extravagance of the Met Gala and the Hollywood glamour at the Oscars, 2016's Cannes will go down in history as a vintage year. Clearly, we couldn't let this year's event go by without selecting our favourite looks, so Who What Wear UK's editors have chosen just a few of the most standout outfits.

"Looking every inch the Hollywood star, Blake Lively is like a modern-day Jessica Rabbit and can therefore wear all manner of clingy, bosomy, sculptural gowns and never look OTT. This beaded creation from Atelier Versace feels special enough to be at Cannes, but just on the right side of understated for my tastes—I think it's down to that wonderful shade of nude-pink." — Hannah Almassi, Editorial Director
"Rosie Huntington-Whiteley never puts a foot wrong (obviously!), but this frothy scarlet-red creation is particularly knockout. "There's something charmingly time-warped about this skirt suit on Kirsten Dunst. Put the image in black and white and you've stepped back to 1932, which goes to prove a few things: A natty black skirt suit is forever, and you can keep pulling that corsage out of storage again and again. "Kristen Stewart looks like she's been having a whale of a time during the film festival, and it shows in her cheeky fashion choices. I mean, this is basically a top. But I adore her knowing, punky attitude in it: the blonde hair, the silver spiked shoes (before she probably slipped into Vans), the Ray-Bans. "It's the apparent simplicity of Eva Herzigova's white Dior dress that really has my pulse racing: It's like a princess frock for a minimalist. The perfect bodice and full, swishy skirt paired with an unexpected shock of black heels and that mega-watt smile is a joyous thing to behold." — Hannah Almassi
"This is a look I would imagine starring centre-front in a Clueless remake. How Cher are the marabou sleeves and the idea of matching a coat to a minidress? Even the ponytail has a whiff of '90s nostalgia about it. It's probably my favourite thing Kendall Jenner has ever worn." — Hannah Almassi
"So we loved seeing Lily-Rose Depp at Cannes, but her mother, Vanessa Paradis, is still the French queen of cool. This Elie Saab gown is revealing but not. Boho but not. Frilly but not. "Amal Clooney knows the power of a great dress (I mean, did you see her wedding wardrobe?), which is why she's gone for such an unfussy 'do and classic red lips, so they don't detract from this gorgeous flowing Atelier Versace gown. "I have to admit, I've also become fairly bored of barely-there dresses on the red carpet. That was until I spotted this Yanina Couture gown worn by actress Frédérique Bel. I like that it cheekily asks you to take a look closer at the detailing and then you realise that the poppies are, ahem, strategically placed. "As showcased by Victoria Beckham last week, the bustier is making a comeback. So it's not surprising to see others wearing a similar neckline on the red carpet. This column dress by Giorgio Armani gives a gorgeous hourglass silhouette to the already beautiful Jessica Chastain.
