The Denim Trend Celebs and I Adore
Celebrities are almost always the first to experiment with some of the most forward denim trends. "Dad" jeans? Check. "Kangaroo" jeans? Also, check. So yeah, color me intimidated at the thought of testing out the latest celebrity-endorsed trend. Let's face it: I'm not a six-foot-tall, leggy model who can always pull off these particularly tricky styles. In fact, I'm pretty stuck in my ways when it comes to the jeans I wear, and my denim collection is limited to a few styles I swear by—nothing too out-there.
To my delightful surprise, the latest denim trend I've noticed emerging is one that I could actually see myself wearing. The button-up (also known as button-front) jeans that It girls like Emily Ratajkowski and Kendall Jenner are wearing right now are refreshingly doable. They're just like the other pairs you own but with a retro-inspired button fly to spice things up. Even the celebrity outfits made up of wardrobe basics like white sneakers and a T-shirt are taken up a notch with the addition of this trend.
Excited to test it out myself, I'm happy to report back that it's a style I kind of fell in love with and, yes, highly recommend. The buttons were a subtle detail that elevated even my simplest summer weekend outfit of jeans and a tank. Here I'm wearing my pair with another major summer trend, a smocked tank top. I finished off my outfit with a pair of marbled hoop earrings and PVC sandals.
