The Best Places to Rent Bridesmaid Dresses Online
What’s the most annoying thing about wedding season? For us, it’s the often excessive amounts of cash bridesmaids are asked to drop on dresses for the ceremony. Usually, these items are the sort of thing you buy, wear once for your friend’s special day, and then never touch again. They don’t really make sense as an investment since they’re not super re-wearable.
Our personal favorite solution: allowing your bridal party to rent bridesmaid dresses. There are a couple of online shops that provide stylish options for anywhere between $75 and $150 a rental, much lower than the several hundred dollars many of us are used to spending on these one-off dresses. Below, see our two favorite bridesmaid dress rental destinations—and 10 stylish dresses to rent right now.
Rent the Runway
Long the go-to shopping destination for stylish shoppers interested in designer wares but unwilling to drop loads of cash, Rent the Runway touts a separate bridal portal for straightforward shopping. With everything from bridesmaid dresses—from designer names like Badgley Mischka, Monique Lhuillier, Osman, and more—to jewelry, shoes, and headpieces to complete the look, it’s a great way to get completely outfitted for a wedding for much, much less.
We’d jump at the opportunity to wear a brand that seems otherwise out of reach.
The texture of this piece makes it an anything-but-average LBD.
Style Lend
Ever wanted to shop straight from your most stylish friend’s closet? That’s what clothing swap destination Style Lend offers—the ability to “lend” pieces from your own wardrobe and, of course, vice versa. While the selection offers some seriously covetable labels, be sure to put in your dress size first to more effectively shop the pieces you’ll actually rent.
Looking for some celebrity inspiration before you go shopping? FYI: Taylor Swift was the cutest bridesmaid.
