3 "Boring" Items Every Bride Needs
When she’s not working with big names like Lupita Nyong’o, Constance Wu, and Diane Kruger or writing a best-selling book, celebrity stylist Micaela Erlanger divulges her fashion expertise in our Ask a Stylist column. From the best places to source vintage to the secret to finding your most flattering jeans, come back each week for a professional’s perspective.
Award show season is the busiest time of the year for me. Essentially, from December to the middle of March, I’m in back-to-back fittings and prepping looks for dozens of red carpet looks. Since my recent engagement, I’ve also had to carve out time and shift my focus to plan for my wedding and brainstorm all things bridal. While I’ve only briefly begun the search and process, I can already confirm I’ll need the below items during my engagement and for the wedding. See and shop the “boring” bridal essentials that are at the top of my bridal checklist in the early stages of planning for the big day.
Comfortable Pieces
From engagement parties to bridal showers, the time leading up to your wedding is full of events and celebrations. As I recommend to my clients, being comfortable should be a priority, so I’m following my own advice and stocking up on comfortable dresses, tops, and jumpsuits for all the bridal occasions. Shop my comfy bridal-prep picks below.
Something Blue
As the tradition goes, I’ll be searching for “something blue” to wear or at least have on my wedding day. I’ve only started brainstorming my blue item, but the below pieces are certainly contenders. Each option would lend a beautiful blue nod for any bride or bride-to-be. Shop the items I’m eyeing below.
Confident Accessories
As I’ve shared (and even wrote a book about), accessories are the key to making any outfit look fully put together. This style tip is no different when it comes to planning all my bridal shower outfits and overall wedding look. Shop the accessories perfect for any bridal event.
