What Would We Buy? Our Editors Pick the Best Fall Boots
Here at Who What Wear headquarters, we’re lucky enough (or unlucky, if you ask our bank accounts!) to be exposed to many of the latest styles and trends before everyone else. So when we asked our staff to pick their favorite boot for fall, the task was far more difficult than anticipated, but each editor finally selected a single, outstanding style they either already own or can’t wait to buy. Scroll through to see all our latest favorites.
The Boots: Coach Urban Hiker Boots ($395) in Black
“Coach is killing it right now, and their luxe take on the workwear boot is perfect for the chilly months ahead.”
The Boots: Saint Laurent Glitter Ankle Boots ($1145) in Gold
“The magpie in me is strongly drawn to these flashy Saint Laurent boots. Sure, they're not appropriate for every occasion, but I'd dress them down with jeans and a blazer or wear them with a little black dress for holiday events.”
The Boots: Givenchy Buckle-Strap Tina Boots ($1655)
“I need these boots because I love oversized buckles. Also, I'd feel like a really cool pilgrim in them.”
The Boots: Saint Laurent Striped Patent-Leather Knee Boots ($1845)
“These striped boots will enliven my all-black outfits and they nod to the season’s mod trend in a very of-the-moment way.”
The Boots: Loeffler Randall Charlie Chelsea Bootie ($425) in Black Shrunken Lambskin
“I swapped my flat leather boots for this chunky option this season and I've never looked back!”
The Boots: Maryam Nassir Zadeh Luisa Boots ($698) in Brick Calf
“While I still love all my pointed-toe boots, this season a more rounded-toe shape with a bit of a '60s vibe feels more current. They feel right because they're slightly off.”
The Boots: Common Projects Leather Chelsea Boots ($450)
“Yes, they’re black, flat, and basic, almost like sneakers instead of boots. But that’s the beauty of these shoes, which offer a sporty twist on the Chelsea boot and feature a clean shape and stamped serial number (two trademarks of footwear label Common Projects). Just imagine them paired with cuffed trousers or a flared skirt.”
The Boots: Stuart Weitzman Lowland Over The Knee Boot ($785) in Black
“If I could pledge my eternal love to a pair of boots, these would be the ones. The color, style, perfect little tie in the back… I want to wear these with all the skirts, dresses, and shorts in my closet, now. Plus, I need a reason to give my knee-high socks a break.”
The Boots: Jil Sander Buckle Boots ($895)
“I love Jil Sander shoes and bags; they are the perfect balance of classic minimalism and of-the-moment.”
The Boots: Acne Studios Jensen Suede Ankle Boots ($550)
“I’ve always been a fan of Acne’s classic boots, but this season, the new Jensens have really stolen my heart! I love everything about them, from the suede material to the beige/camel color to the edgy touch added by the pointed toe and angular-shaped elastic.”
The Boots: River Island Black Leather Pointed Toe Ankle Boots ($150)
"I've been seriously lusting after the perfect boot with a pointy toe and a chunky heel to offset that severity. Voila! These River Island boots are a great alternative to the Céline F/W 13 boots everyone loves but that cost quite the pretty penny!"
The Boots: Circus By Sam Edelman Holt Booties ($100) in Black
“I've been looking for the perfect flat-ish, suede, almond-toed boot with a sliver of metal detail (I'm sucker for that subtle glint of a metal plate on ankle boots), and these pretty much fit the bill. I like anything with studs, so those are just a bonus, and hey, the other color option is one of Olivia Palermo's picks on Piperlime, so I must be doing something right.”
The Boots: Sol Sana Toni Boots ($180) in Black and White
“I like that these are black and white, which I think makes them a bit different as far as booties go. Also, they have a substantial heel without looking too high or dressy, which I love!”

Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here at Who What Wear, and she is currently Editor-at-Large. It was a less expected route, seeing as she was graduating from business school at USC when this all began, but it has turned out to be the best one for her. Fast-forward to 2024, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was an intern starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to classic pieces and neutral basics but will always make an exception for something colorful, printed, or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a good party is dressing up for one. On weekdays, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious for dinner and trying to force her husband to watch Summer House.
