I'm Spending My Birthday Weekend in NYC: The 30 Items I'm Planning on Wearing
I'm one of those people who loves their birthday. To me, it's the beginning of a new chapter, a new start, a reason to celebrate with friends, and a reason to get all dressed up. This year, I'm turning 24 and going to be spending my birthday in New York City with my friends and family. My birthday itinerary is filled with plans like high tea in the East Village with my sisters and mother who flew in for the weekend, along with a fun dinner planned with my friends in the meatpacking district followed by dancing the night away in Brooklyn. I'm also going to a broadway show and ending the weekend by taking my mom and sisters to my favorite piano bar in the city called The Nines.
So now that I've planned the perfect New York City weekend, I need the perfect outfits to wear. This year, I wanted to wear a fun party dress for when I celebrate with my friends. I always think birthdays are the perfect opportunity to wear something fun and a little over the top that you normally wouldn't. (I mean, it only comes once a year, so why not?)
For tea, I wanted to go for a prep-school vibe with an argyle Marni sweater, Tigermist pleated skirt, and some knee-high boots. For the Broadway show, I'm thinking of wearing a sweaterdress.
Keep scrolling to see which items I'll be wearing on my birthday weekend along with other items that almost made the cut.
I always love a good little black dress. Maybe I'll wear something like this to The Nines.
I ended up going with this dress for my birthday dinner with my friends.
I wore this set to dinner with my family and friends and got so many compliments.
I wore this sweater with leggings and Chelsea boots for a casual lunch date with my family.
Even though I didn't wear this for my birthday, it's definitely on my mind for holiday season.
