We Tried on Every Shoe Style at Zara, and These Were All the Winners
Meet Lauren, Who What Wear's fashion editor and the co-founder of The Devils Wear Zara. Lauren is so obsessed with Zara that we started calling her the Zara Scout. Now she's turning the nickname into a franchise so she can regularly share her insider knowledge of the brand, including all her hacks, secrets, and must-haves with you.
So, we (Mimi, co-founder of Devils, and I) started doing this thing where we try on a bunch of stuff at Zara, take pics in the dressing room, and share our favorite finds with all of you here. Trying on clothes and stepping foot into an actual brick-and-mortar store is quickly becoming an obsolete notion when it comes to shopping. However, seeing product IRL can be a real game changer, especially when it comes to fast-fashion retailers like Zara. Do we like trying on a million items in tiny, weirdly lit dressing rooms? No, we don't. But does it help? Yes, it does.
For this go-round, we decided to hone in our quest to shoes only. After running around the store and trying on way too many shoe styles to count, we narrowed down the selection to 11 winners. Ahead, take a look at the Zara shoes that we little Zara devils think are the cream of the crop. Fun fact: Most are still on massive sale, so add them to your cart before it's too late.
Zara kitten heels are something I will admit to having way too many of. But living in New York means foregoing stilettos for more practical options. These crystal-studded velvet beauties are officially the latest addition to my collection.

Whether you actually need a pair of weather-resistant boots or not, these sneaker–hiker boot hybrids are undeniably cool.
Shop the shoes:
Expensive-looking party shoes for $30? Pretty sure we don't need to advocate for these any further, but we will. The strap placement on the foot is extremely flattering, and the heel height is comfortable enough to ensure you can enjoy your night sans that nasty heel pain.
Shop the shoes:
Mock croc and cowboy boots are two of the biggest footwear trends right now, so I had to try these on. I know sometimes it can seem weird to spend over $100 on a pair of shoes from Zara, but when I slipped my foot into these, I could feel why these were on the pricier side. In other words, they're worth every penny.
Shop the shoes:
I will admit that I tried these on before checking to see if they were still available on the site, and unfortunately, they were sold out (crying emoji). However, I did manage to find a pair of green pumps that I actually like more because they are a more fun hue.
Shop the shoes:
Although I wouldn't describe myself as a "sneaker girl," I do wear my Converse on repeat. These reminded me of Converse a little bit but with that added Zara-quirk. Everything from the pink lug sole to the transparent rubbed had me sold.
Shop the shoes:
Can you ever have too many ankle boots? The answer is no. These bad boys are finally on sale and basically the epitome of trendy as far as 2019 shoe fads go. The slanted heel makes these feel fresh and different from all the snakeskin ankle boots we've been seeing and will continue to see this year.
Shop the shoes:
We tried these on during our last Zara dressing room diaries story series, but because they are still available and very on sale, we figured we'd add them in one more time.
Shop the shoes:
Okay, one more pair of snakeskin boots for good measure. I love that these even have the snake print on the heel, making them particularly eye-catching.
Shop the shoes:
These are the shoes you can stomp around in without a care in the world, for they are durable and water-resistant. The little sock layer inside makes for a comfy and easy-to-put-on addition.
Shop the shoes:
Another pair from our last story, but they are on massive sale now!

Next up, shop all the Zara items we know will still be cool in 2020.
