My 57-Year-Old Aunt Just Gave Me Her Zara Wish List, and Damn, It's Good
I recently wrote a story about my aunt and her impeccable style, and it got my wheels turning. Since I regularly turn to this woman for style advice, and to be honest, all of your responses to her most recent shopping wish list were overwhelmingly positive, I figured I should continue to inquire about what she has her eye on. While my aunt loves shopping at Shopbop and Net-a-Porter more than anyone I know, she also loves a great affordable find, particularly, a Zara one.
Since I know navigating the Zara website can be quite overwhelming, I had her comb through the site and select 29 of her favorite Zara products of the moment. My aunt was kind enough to also provide quotes to go along with each item so you can learn a little bit more about why she loves each piece so much. You'll find a plethora of stylish knitwear, loose dresses, and practical footwear. So if you've been in the mood for a good Zara haul, then I suggest you look no further because your carts are about to be very full. Keep scrolling to hear what she had to say about her recent Zara picks.
"I love the bow detail and the pop of metallic. It's just enough bling for a holiday party (if holiday parties were a thing this year). I would style these with ankle boots or low-heeled mule."
"You can never go wrong with a cool chunky knit. I love the pastel color-block design. Plus, green is my favorite color."
"At my age, I would personally not wear the matching leggings, but this oversize knit sweatshirt is a perfect cozy winter item to pair with jeans."
"This knit pant is perfect because it is not too form-fitting yet somehow still gives a bit of a tailored vibe. I love it paired with the vest shown for a more masculine feel."
"This shirt just has a cool vibe without being too youthful. It can be dressed up with a skirt and pumps or down with jeans and sneakers."
"The dark color is slimming, the raw hem is updated without being too youthful, and the wide legs are fun."
"I love this whole outfit. It is simple with clean lines yet still very stylish—perfect for pairing with a special pair of boots or long earrings."
"I'm all about a low heel these days. After being barefoot and at home for so many months, I don't think I will go back to heels anytime soon. This loafer in the patent leather burgundy with a square toe carries the perfect punch."
"This faux-fur collar looks so luxurious without breaking the bank. I think it's classic, pretty, and perfect."
"I love, love, love this print. I would wear the entire ensemble but if it's too much for some people, these pieces are great as separates as well."
"This top has a playful pajama vibe and will prove to be very versatile over pants or a skirt. The metal buttons just add to the fun."
"This has such a fun and interesting shoulder detail. I always look for pieces that bring attention to themselves rather than to me."
"What a fun print! I would wear this with a long black sweater and black boots so that the print is the star. Again, I love green."
"Matching sets are the way to go and this color is so happy. It's perfect for lounging around at home or even running errands."
"You can never go wrong with neutral-colored jeans. The button detail allows you to show a little leg and a cute pair of strappy shoes."
"This vest is a great spin on a classic puffer coat. It is stylish and warm without completely covering up the rest of a cute outfit."
"The lumberjack plaid is a great contract to this feminine blouse. The pleated back and button placket add just the right touch."
"At first I picked this because it is such a cute rain jacket, but when I realized it's actually two jackets in one (a puffer coat and a rain coat), I was sold!"
"I love a long blazer over pants or a skirt. This double-breasted jacket with jewel buttons calls my name. I would likely wear it with jeans, a white blouse, and a strappy shoe."
"I would layer this over a longer white blouse with jeans. It's makes for a cute and casual holiday ensemble."
"I'm not one for super-sweet styles, but this dotted tulle skirt is super cute. I would pair it with more tailored items to balance the frills."
"A touch of beading is always fun, and the bows on the are an unexpected detail. The drop short sleeve nicely covers the upper arm while allowing for a bracelet stack to be visible."
"This color will brighten anyone's face. It would look great over a long printed skirt styled with boots."
"Although the lug sole can seem youthful, this monochromatic version adds a bit of sophistication to the trend."
"Such a great shape and color."Want more of my aunt's shopping picks? Then check out 26 stunning items she currently has on her wish list.
