Prove Me Wrong: This Polish Color Gets No Love But Is Actually Chic
When you think of popular nail polish colors, you probably think of reds, pinks, grays, and nudes. We all have our go-to's. I normally lean towards pinks and grays. But you know what color doesn't really get enough love, but in my opinion, actually should? Yellow.
Yes, yellow. I know what you're thinking. I mean, I can't remember if I've ever worn yellow nail polish before. It's definitely not my usual first choice. And now that I think of it, whenever I go to the nail salon, I normally see rows and rows of pinks and reds and neutrals, but maybe just a small handful of yellow nail polish options that seem like they go untouched more often than not.
But let me tell you, after the year we've had, I'm ready to bring this sunshiny, cheerful color into my life. While you might think that a yellow nail polish reads super loud and not so flattering, there are actually some sophisticated and chic variations out there that are just perfect for a manicure. I'm talking shades like amber, ochre, flax, and daffodil. It's a fresh, unexpected, and happy hue.
Need some proof or more convincing? Take a look at some yellow nail polishes that should be an option for your next manicure.
Olive & June's founder calls this "sunshine in a bottle," and we can't agree more. This yellow is the perfect balance between bright and subtle.
J. Hannah's Relic is a lovely marigold that's long-lasting and chip-free for at least seven days. The formula is nontoxic and cruelty-free.
If you're looking for a warmer yellow, try this golden hue.
For those of you who are a little wary of going all in one a bright and bold yellow, you can start with this lighter, subtler shade.
And on the flip side, if you are ready to really make a statement, why not reach for a bold neon hue?
I'd consider this a lighter version of earthy ochre. It almost looks like a neutral in the bottle. The formula is vegan-friendly and fragrance-free.
This happy hue is aptly called "Summer Dream," so you know it's perfect for warmer days.
This light yellow polish is 7-free, vegan, and cruelty-free. It's named after the Italian liqueur, limoncello, so it just might transport you to a sunny day dining alfresco.
Essie's Don't Hate, Curate is a warm yellow with just a tinge of orange. The formula itself dries so quickly (in just a minute).
We dare you not to smile once you paint your nails this bright and glossy yellow. The color is long-lasting, chip-resistant, and waterproof.
Described as a "spicy mustard yellow," this polish is creamy and has such rich color. The formula is vegan, cruelty-free, non-toxic, and 10-free.
This nail polish is one of those "go big or go home" colors. The neon yellow is so vibrant and vivid. It's definitely something you'd want to wear when you want to stand out.
Another creamy yellow, this Zoya polish is so sunshiny. Reviewers have said it applies easily and evenly and only takes a few coats to look opaque.
This polish from OPI's Infinite Shine collection will stay shiny and chip-free for up to 11 days.
Essie's Taxi Hopping is an acidic yellow with just a tad green. When you think of those two colors together you might think, "Huh?" But somehow this color combination really works.
If you're looking for that bold taxi-cab yellow, here you go. This long-wear polish has a satin finish.
