I'm Only Buying My Winter Basics From This One Nordstrom Brand
We know and love Nordstrom for its wide-ranging selection of our favorite brands, but what if I told you that you can shop Nordstrom's in-house brands too? Yes, the retailer has its own lines, one of which is an editor favorite for everything from dresses and sweaters to jewelry and footwear. If you love a minimalist look and want new places to stock up on basics, this is your sign to check out Nordstrom's namesake brand, formerly known as Nordstrom Signature. But to save you some time, I already scrolled through all 800+ pieces and rounded up some of the best winter basics currently available.
There are ribbed turtlenecks, cashmere sweaters, leather blazers, knee-high black boots, suede loafers, and so much more that will easily elevate any outfit this winter. And those are just my personal highlights. Below, shop 32 items that will keep you both warm and stylish this season. And did I mention there's a Black Friday sale happening? Go!
A simple burgundy maxi will be the MVP of your fall-and-winter wardrobe.
I saw French cool girl Sabina Socol wear tights, so I bought tights.
A blazer that's actually comfortable to wear? That'll be this camel-colored knit one.
The ribbed details on the neckline and sleeves are so pretty.
These pants will take you from office day to happy hour with the right accessories.
The fabric of this swingy dress looks so much more luxe than its price. Talk about a win.
If your neck is always cold but you hate wearing scarves, well, that's what turtlenecks are for.
And while you're at it, this leather midi skirt will pair well with the above blazer.
Wear a white tank or tee under this for a layered look, or wear this sweater all by itself if you have a statement necklace you want to show off.
If you want to go for that Sandy Liang schoolgirl-inspired look, these knee-high socks will pair well with ballet flats.
This elevated hoodie is one you'll actually want to wear outside (and not on the sofa bingeing Netflix).
The leopard-print trend is at an all-time high, so might as well step into it.
Lauren Adhav is a freelance fashion editor based in Los Angeles. Originally from Orlando, Florida, she always wanted to work at a fashion magazine. After finally getting an internship at Town & Country in 2015, she moved to New York City and continued to get her footing in the industry with stints at Cosmopolitan, W magazine, Harper's Bazaar, and Moda Operandi. In 2017, she returned to Cosmo full time, starting off as the beauty and fashion editorial assistant and working her way to fashion editor. She contributed to both the website and print issues, pitching new ideas, forecasting trends, covering red carpet events, and informing the overall coverage and brand voice. After five years in NYC, she moved to the West Coast for the sunshine and the change of pace. As a freelance fashion editor, she still contributes to Cosmo and now Who What Wear. She's always trying to get ahead of the next big trend before it goes mainstream and loves discovering fashion brands with a unique point of view (Chopova Lowena, Sandy Liang, and Bode being some of her current favorites). She also spends an unhealthy amount of time online shopping for the perfect piece, and now that she's in L.A., she's rediscovering her soft spot for malls. On the weekends, you can find her walking around the Silver Lake Reservoir, trying to catch up on her tan at Venice Beach, and probably ordering a Chinese chicken salad at Joan's on Third.
