I never actually noticed how many white tops I own until my husband remarked upon it one day. What can I say? They're a great investment—from basic white tees to button-downs and knits, they’re so incredibly versatile. As someone who lives in L.A., they feel lighter, brighter, more casual, and fresher than my black tops. They pair wonderfully with jeans and skirts alike. They look crisp and polished and can easily be worn from day-to-night. In fact, I wear white tops more than anything else in my closet.

If you're looking for a long sleeve tee that will last you a lifetime this is it.
For a more lightweight long sleeve tee that exudes an L.A. casual vibe, James Perse is a great option.

Madewell make some of the best white button-downs—ideal if you're looking for that relaxed oversize fit.
This is my go-to for a smart and polished look.
I like to throw on my H&M button-downs over everything from tank tops to bikinis and I never feel too precious about them.
I've owned my Gap button-down for years and it still holds up great.
