Solved: These 5 Brands Make the Best Thigh Shapewear in Existence
We all have little things we do to feel more confident in what we're wearing—not because they're necessary but because they make us feel our best. For me, that's self-tanning, heels, and, depending on what outfit I'm wearing, sometimes shapewear. Whether it's a bridesmaid's dress for a friend's wedding or a fitted look for an important meeting, sometimes, a bit more structure underneath helps me feel more polished and confident in my outfit.
But I, for one, think shapewear is one of the most confusing items to shop for. Between all the different materials, cheeky marketing names, and various silhouettes it's hard to know which brand and style are right for the particular garment you're wearing shapewear under. Thankfully, there are a handful of brands that kill it in the shapewear department—the reviews say it all. Below, I'm outlining the best thigh-shapewear brands around, but you can also turn to them for your other shapewear needs if you're looking for another type, as they pretty much hit on the entire category.
1. SPANX
Spanx is the reigning champion of shapewear—and for a good reason. The brand offers high-quality options at reasonable prices. Their shapewear helps smooth things out and lasts without losing its shape or support. Reviewers rave about its thigh shapewear, noting the comfort, seamless options, and beautiful results under dresses and skirts. The brand's products are also available at major retailers such as Nordstrom and Shopbop, making shopping for Spanx a breeze.
I've never worn or purchased Spanx before and was pleasantly surprised by these. They're super tight to get up but comfortable once on. I love the length of the leg because I have curvier thighs. I was worried about them rolling and bunching, but so far, they have not.
I have tried a number of different shapers in this brand, and all seem to have different strong points. This one is my favorite. It has great hold and shaping yet is very comfortable.
When I saw this, I wanted it immediately, but I was having a hard time swallowing the cost. I ended up getting it in nude to wear underneath dresses, and I don't regret it for one minute! It's very comfy to wear and washes well (hand-wash). I love that there's a bra built in, and it has a plunging neckline, so you can wear practically everything.
Again, seamless is the move for shapewear that doesn't show through.
2. SKIMS
Leave it to Kim Kardashian to disrupt the shapewear game like no other and even make it cool. With sizes ranging from XS to 5X and nine shades of nude, Skims is the new go-to for all things undergarment. Reviewers love the fits and range of shapewear options as well as the comfort and wearability of each piece.
I absolutely love this shapewear. It is so comfortable, and it shapes the body smoothly and nicely. It is amazing! 10/10 would recommend it! Buy this!
It fits perfectly! I got a Small. I'm 5'3" and weigh 136 lbs. It was a little bit tight but still comfortable. It doesn't flatten my butt and even lifts up the breast a bit! Definitely recommend it!
Love These! I wore them under my wedding dress and would buy them time and time again!
I can't believe how comfortable this is. I love that you can pull it up to fit the length needed. It's so flattering, and you nearly forget you have it on!
These were so comfortable!! They were smooth, didn't roll, and were incredibly flattering. Don't be alarmed by how small they appear in the package! They will fit! Follow the size chart—I promise! I will be purchasing more of these in the future, no doubt.
3. YUMMIE
Yummie is another shapewear brand found at most retailers, making shopping for it beyond easy. Reviewers also love the variety in silhouette options and the lack of seams that make it versatile enough to wear under almost anything.
The way these are designed is so modern and well-thought-out! The shaping material is very nice, holds, and shapes without restriction! The longer leg gives that extra security, and the material is that much more elastic that it stays at your leg and doesn't roll up to give an unwanted little bulge at mid-thigh.
4. MIRACLESUIT
Speaking of a wide variety of silhouettes, Miraclesuit offers shorts, skirts, and bodysuit thigh shapers that reviewers can't get enough of. According to reviewers, the brand's shapewear holds you in without causing discomfort, bulging, or falling down. They also love the varying degrees of control offered throughout the different options in the line.
Totally awesome! Held everything in like it was supposed to without rolling down.
It worked like a charm. Enough said!
These high-tech shorts come in three different colorways.
5. MAIDENFORM
Maidenform is a tried-and-true shapewear brand—there's a reason it's been around for decades. Reviewers always note the comfort level in its garments and that they always stay in place, which is one of the most important aspects when it comes to thigh shapewear.
Excellent product. It doesn't roll up and has quality construction.
I bought this and love it! The thigh slimmer is so soft and comfortable. Holds everything together without feeling stuffed.
