We're 6 Weeks Into Summer—These 30 Accessories Have Already Proven Their Worth
Most Wanted is a weekly series in which one editor, staffer, or influencer shares their top 30 must-haves or current wish-list items.
I love a good wardrobe basic. In fact, the majority of my closet is made up of them. Ribbed tanks, knit dresses, cropped jeans, linen separates—you name it, I'm wearing it. And to avoid my summer outfits feeling, well, boring, I've amped up my accessory game. This summer has no shortage of exciting accessory trends, from platform sandals to retro sunglasses. And so far, I've been wearing the 30 pieces below the most. I talked through some of them in detail during a recent livestream shopping event, which you can watch here, but read on to get your full summer accessory fix.
This necklace somehow looks good with every summer outfit. (See above for proof.)
The It sunglasses of summer 2022. I'm partial to the tortoiseshell style, but they come in black, white, nude, and more.
Meet my dream wedding-guest shoes. The platform is key for dancing all night long.
These platform sandals are Gen Z–approved. I have the neon green, but I'm eyeing the cobalt blue.
ICYMI, it's "crochet girl" summer. All apparel and accessories are fair game, but a handbag is a great place to start. And leave it to Zara to create the cutest option for only $50 in not one but three colors.
A silk scarf can be tied in endless ways including as a headband, a top, or even a necktie. I was instantly sold on this one thanks to the chic Italian tile print.
Feather bags are the perfect trend for evening attire. Think weddings, birthday dinners, or bachelorette parties.
Beaded necklaces—especially the kind that look like they may or may not be a child's arts and crafts project—are everywhere this summer.
When I saw these retro frames were polarized, I instantly added them to my shopping cart.
Rubber jelly sandals in all silhouettes are popping up left and right, and it's no surprise that these Gucci sandals are my top pick.
I love the large woven texture of this crochet bag. Plus, it's a crossbody, which is ideal for summer travel.
The modern pearl trend is still going strong, so this necklace is a current favorite. You can wear it on its own, but I recommend layering it with other gold chains.
I have this raffia tote (a close cousin to crochet) in green and use it all the time for the beach. Now that it's on sale, I think I need the pink version, too.
I personally wear bucket hats all year round, but if there's one season to test out the trend, it's summer. This cotton one is easy to pack, adjustable, and has a cute bow-tie detail on the back. What more could you ask for?
This raffia version is an equally good option. I'll be packing this on my next vacation without question.
Want to wear modern pearls and colorful beads together? Say less.
Really into the tennis skirt and dress trend? Then it looks like you have no choice but to complete the look with a matching visor. I don't make the rules, but I do follow them.
A $15 accessory that makes you feel like you're on vacation no matter where you are.
Pro tip: Style flirty summer dresses with fisherman sandals for a cool-girl look.
I just discovered this small business with the best basket bags handmade in Mexico. I already own two, but who's counting?
Ultra-chunky chokers may be a big summer jewelry trend, but you can't tell me this piece won't be in style for years to come.
I highly recommend scooping up these strappy sandals before they sell out, especially since they're currently 40% off.
Sporty, futuristic sunglasses are a vibe, and at $20, they're a trend you won't regret trying.
Arguably the most random summer trend is the skinny belt, but I've been wearing this one with all my linen trousers.
