Instead of Jeans, Fashion People Are Turning Their Attention to This Fresh Trouser Trend for Summer
I bought a pair of striped baggy denim jeans from & Other Stories last year, and they're still one of my most-worn items of all times. The thing is, though, I'm a summer person, so at the first sight of sun and the opportunity to put my jeans to one side, and I'll jump at the chance.
Which is why I'm delighted striped trousers are having a serious moment right now. In (a most likely blue and white) lightweight pyjama pants, airy linen, soft satin or even crochet, anything goes this season as long as it's lighter and more breathable than heavy denim. And back to the pyjama style, as any pair of trousers with a super comfy stretch waist and a lie-down-on-the-sofa proof loose-leg fit gets a yes from me. Especially when you actually get to take this comfort outside of the house. And of course then there's pinstripe, the previously only office-appropriate stripe thats now taken to the streets worn with colourful trainers and oversized shirts.
The key style note, no matter your chosen pair, is to opt for loose, wide-leg styles that will make you feel cool but composed, whether you're on the central line or by the beach. After searching through all my favourite shops, these are the best striped trousers out there right now.
Karina's red striped trousers look effortless with her comfy trainers and oversized denim shirt.
Although Amara has kept striped trousers in the house worn with lingerie, a simple white shirt and trainers will take them outside.

Yes to wearing pyjama bottoms out of the house.
All about that classic blue and white hue (and the drawstring waist, of course).
I would wear these on holiday with a linen shirt and bikini top.

Just add a vest top and ballet flats.
Okay, I know I said no jeans, but these are too good not to share.
