The 17 Best Sports Bras for Runners, According to the Women Who Own Them
Whether you've been running like a pro for years on end or are just getting started, one of the best aspects of the sport is how accessible it is for just about anyone. And while you may have already bought the best shoes on the market, there's one other thing to really consider before you head out the door: the best sports bras for running. While it certainly doesn't hurt that you can wear some of the chicest outfits on your regular jogs, having the right sports bra will make all the difference—trust us.
To make sure your runs are as comfortable as possible, we asked model and personal trainer Jill de Jong what to look for when shopping for your sports bras. "When I look for a sports bra, I look for soft, stretchy fabrics because comfort is key and you feel better the more often and longer you run,” she tells us. "For larger busts, get good coverage and support. A lot of cute, fashionable bras will look great but aren't ideal to run in."
With that in mind, start shopping our favorite sports bras that will give you all the support you need for your next run.
There were so many glowing reviews for this Outdoor Voices bra that it was hard to just pick one.

Fun fact: This bra is made out of recycled plastic water bottles.
Promising review: "I am obsessed with this sports bra. It fits like a crop—it ends just above the small of my waist, which is super flattering. It's also soft and so supportive—I run in it all the time and it doesn't chafe or cause discomfort. I have this bra in two colors I love it so much and will absolutely buy it in a third." — Lily
Might as well get the matching leggings for a full look.
Promising review: "I am a marathon runner and this sports bra fits the criteria I use for purchasing athletic clothing. I am pleased with the quality of the fabric. The design is exactly what is shown in the pictures." — Astrid
The mesh panel makes this look extra breathable.
Promising review: "I am a 32DD and the medium fits perfectly. I exercise regularly, including jogging and high-intensity exercise and the compression of this bra keeps everything in place. I have one in every color. My favorite exercise bra ever, better than Lululemon, Nike, etc." — 2monkey
Thicker straps are so key for long runs.
Promising review: "Let me just say, this material is so much better than the pants. I was very happy with this purchase. The bra has great hold and is a firm elastic. I loved it and loved the full coverage it gave me. I was able to run 3.5 miles without any complaints! I would definitely recommend it." — Amazon reviewer
Lululemon formulated this bra specifically for runners, so you know it's legit.
Promising review: "It has been a struggle for me to find a good bra that I am able to run in. This one works great. It does stretch out some after a few wears but not enough to affect the fit. Will be buying several more. By far the best high impact sports bra I have found." — Sheree34DD
Just wait until you see the back.
Promising review: "Supportive—I can even run with this bra! I love the color and style!" — Mariana P.
Stamina is in the name, so you know this one has to be good.
Promising review: "Personally, I wear these for running. I know they are only moderate support, but if you're smaller chested like me then they are perfect for running as well as other workouts. I find these bras super comfy and whilst they can be a bit snug to get into when you first get them on, once on they're amazing. There are no seams to rub or irritate and they wash and wear brilliantly well." — Nordstrom reviewer
The fuller-coverage tank means you can skip wearing a top over it.
Promising review: "This bra has a stretchy material that is not too tight but keeps everything in place. I felt that it gives me the necessary support while allowing me to focus on the workout. The straps at the back are comfortable and give the bra a great look and it looks like a top that can be easily worn with tights for a summer workout." — Chiara2842
I love the retro feel of this logo band.
Promising review: "I am very satisfied with Starter Medium Impact Racerback Sports Bra. I am petite, with a small chest, and wear this bra to run both on a treadmill and outside. It does the job of keeping everything secure, and it doesn't move, cut, or bind. It's also relatively easy to take off (some sports bras are miserable to get off once you are a bit sweaty). For the cost, this is a great choice and I plan to buy in more colors." — E. Griffin
This subtle leopard pattern is so chic.
Promising review: "I'm surprised this bra doesn’t have 5 stars, I absolutely love it. It's so flattering and gives great support. I wear this running, walking and when I lift. I am a 32c (small C) and I got a size 1. I will say I do not understand Good American's sizing at all because it says a 1 and fits like a 2–4, which I'm typically an XS in tops, but if I would have gotten the 0 it wouldn't have fit at all. This bra made me want to buy many other GA sports bras because I love it so much." — PhoebeChix
I'm in love with this daisy print.
Promising review: "This bra is everything. It's forgiving around the underarm as it's cut a bit more modest than other sports bras. The trim at the bottom hits right under your bust so that your abs are on full display. Highly recommend!" — Devon
The zip-front makes this so easy to take on and off.
Promising review: "This bra will let you run like the wind. Under Armour got it right. Zipping up this bra reduced my chest a cup size. It held everything in place and I was able to run. I'm a 36D with implants and this bra held me in place the whole time. Best bra for high-impact workouts if you've got large breasts." — Amazon reviewer
White is such a classic.
Promising review: "This crop is perfect for my runs, yoga, or gym workouts. It has enough support and keeps me cool—also super-flattering fit." — April
Look for a style that's geared toward high-impact sports for the best support.
Promising review: "By far the best sports bra I have! I am very well endowed and this is extremely supportive and also comfortable. It holds up during running and during HIIT style workouts. I bought in more colors because it's that good!" — Lglglg
Perfect for when you tire of racerback bras.
Promising review: "This one of the most comfortable sports bra ever. Size fits great and definitely worth the money." — Corlis
Whether you're only doing a few laps around the track or are going the distance, you'll want to wear these bras for all your runs.
