I'm an Editor Who Loves to Be Cosy—10 Chic Pyjama Brands I Always Recommend
This time of year is typically when we see a spike in sales of fancy pyjamas, as many indulge in beautiful PJs for the Christmas period or to give as a gift. As the cold weather sets in and the temptation to spend all day in loungewear increases, it's unsurprising that for many of us pyjamas have become something of a second skin. If you're looking to upgrade from your trusty (but tired-looking) flannels, there are a number of cool labels creating beautiful sets that are well worth spending a little bit more on. And we've pinpointed the very best.
Of course, we can't talk about pyjamas without mentioning cult label Sleeper—years on from their debut, the feather-trimmed sleepwear continues to yo-yo in and out of stock. We also have vibrant printed sets from brands like Desmond & Dempsey and influencer-favourite Rixo. And for the minimalists, there's Deiji Studios' simple linen co-ords. Scroll on to see the full run-down, then add your most-loved pair to your basket—or your festive wish list—before Christmas rolls around.
1. Eberjey
Beloved by the fashion crowd for its irresistibly soft sleepwear, Eberjey has mastered the balance between style and comfort. Trust us, once you try on a pair of these PJs, you won't want to wear anything else to bed.
Plaid screams Christmas, especially when it features pops of candy cane red.
The ultimate soft and comfortable set.
2. Deiji Studios
Founded in 2016 by Juliette Harkness and Emma Nelson, Deiji Studios started out producing bedding, but has now branched into stylish loungewear crafted from cool linen and cotton fabrics in a range of simple styles.
3. Rixo
Rixo's under-the-radar loungewear collection features beautiful printed robes, pyjama sets and matching eye masks. The red and blue vintage rose print is my personal favourite.
4. Honna
Honna London was founded by stylist, fashion editor (and former WWW contributor) Barbara McMillan and creates classic striped pyjama sets that are beautifully made and start at £120. The sage green version is a recent addition, and perfect for Christmas.
5. Sleeper
Sleeper pyjamas have had so much hype over the past few years and can be hard to find, but Net-a-Porter have just restocked—hooray! The black trouser set with feather trims is like fashion gold dust lately, but I also love the mint and striped versions.
The Sleeper set everyone wants to own.
Imagine floating around the house in this beautiful co-ord.
6. Tekla
Tekla is another amazing brand to arise from Copenhagen—the Danish brand was created in 2017 making bathrobes, bedding and beautiful classic, and very simple PJs. Oh and Harry Styles is a fan.
7. Desmond & Dempsey
According to Net-a-Porter, the idea for Desmond & Dempsey was born as co-founder Molly Goddard used to sleep in her boyfriend Joel's button-down shirts and they made a pyjama brand together so that she would stop spilling coffee on his shirts. The sets all have a menswear feel, and use hand-painted vibrant prints.
If you're planning a post-Christmas getaway, make sure you pack these tropical PJs.
This nightdress is chic enough to wear out, in my opinion.
8. Pour Les Femmes
Pour Les Femmes was created by House of Cards star Robin Wright and designer Karen Fowler. They created the brand as they couldn't find the perfect lightweight pyjamas, and married this with their desire to create a socially conscious business. Pour Les Femmes supports charitable organizations that directly help women in conflict regions—the details of the campaign are listed in detail on its website.
This has a distinctly vintage feel.
Luxury sleepwear you won't regret investing in.
9. Olivia von Halle
When it comes to luxury pyjamas, Olivia von Halle is the ultimate brand for silk sets you can wear outside the house and nine years since its launch has become a firm fashion crowd favourite. Kate Moss has been seen several times in the classic striped silk PJs.
It makes sense to end the Year of Barbie in these bubblegum-pink pyjamas.
10. M&S
When it comes to PJs, I really think you can't go wrong with M&S. In an array of styles from traditional button-ups to shorts and camis, and silky nightdresses to jersey joggers, there really is something for everyone. Plus, nearly every product comes in a size range of 6-22.
