These Statement Knitwear Buys Are Perfect for 2023's Party Season
With just over two weeks until Christmas, it's safe to say the festive season and all its style conundrums are in full swing. For me, when it come's to party dressing I like to embrace a more polished version of my day-to-day look. I still want to look like myself, but just with some added sparkle. While I like a clean and classic look normally, the festive season is the time to add some glitz to my look, and as a self-confessed magpie, I often find myself drawn to silver gems, diamanté details and colourful sequins. I know I'm not the only one who falls into this category...
Fortunately, this love of all things sparkly doesn't mean I'm restricted to mini skirts, barely-there dresses and strappy tops. The most hardworking piece in my party wardrobe, for this year and beyond, is, brace yourself, knitwear.
Now these aren't your standard sweaters and classic cardis. These are cosy heroes that have had a festive upgrade. We've seen plenty of party knits hit the runways, from Loewe to JW Anderson, over the last few seasons. Joyful and chic with a side order of cosy, it has been a veritable celebration of sequinned necklines, embellished shoulders, bold buttons and statement sleeves. Gone are the days of not wanting to "ruin your look" by having to wear a coat over your LBD. Now, you can stay ultra cosy in your blinged-up knitwear yet still look ready for the dancefloor.
Pair them with sleek separates like slip skirts, jeans and leather trousers and you'll have yourself a failsafe party look that is chic, cosy and fun. Ready to go? Scroll down to discover your party-knit mood this season.
