I'm Picky About New Trends, But These Items Could Easily Become Closet Staples
As a fashion editor, I spend a solid chunk of my time uncovering trends that could appeal to you, dear readers. And I don't like to suggest just any old trend. I'm actually quite picky about what I select because I like to ensure said trend will bring a current feel to your wardrobe and have longevity. You know, something that won't just be a one-season wonder. Well, our brand-new clothing line, Who What Wear Collection, just launched and features the trend-ish pieces I gravitate toward.
The launch collection offers thoughtfully designed items that are forward in nature. There are actually four specific trends included in the edit that I think are particularly noteworthy. The pieces that fall within said trends could easily become wardrobe staples because of their versatility.
Scroll to check out the four trends I think you'll be interested in as well as styling and shopping inspiration.
1. Coordinating Sets
The beauty of a matching set, from a bra top and cardigan set to a printed blouse-and-skirt duo, is that it's basically an instant outfit maker. You just have to toss on both pieces, and you're set (pun intended). However, you can also mix and match the items with other pieces.
A matching blouse and skirt look gorgeous with a contrasting scarf and tall boots.
A knit tank paired with a cropped cardigan is a no-fail look with trousers in a similar hue.
Tuck a short-sleeve cardigan into wide-leg trousers with an of-the-moment bra top underneath.
Plissé is one fabric that just inherently looks expensive. Consider a look like this with the top, trousers, and a bold button-down shirt.
A coordinating top with drawstring shorts is just adorable.
2. Cutouts
One of the key details for the season continues to be cutouts. I'm particularly loving the accent on a dress for a chic twist.
This dress is so striking that it doesn't require anything more than a few standout accessories to make an impact.
Add a few of your jewelry pieces, and you're good to go with this black-and-white stunner.
Here's another simple yet forward outfit featuring the plissé dress.
3. Not-Your-Average Midi Dresses
You can't go wrong with a one-and-done midi dress to make a statement for a range of occasions. While a simple silhouette always works, those styles featuring ruching, for example, are quite modern.
Strappy sandals are a gorgeous addition to this ensemble.
Really go for it with printed knee-high boots.
You could really opt for any shoe style with this one—sneakers, booties, sandals, and so on.
4. Square-Neck Pieces
There's something about a square neckline on a dress, tank, or top that feels elevated and current.
I'm so into the idea of half-tying a sweater around a dress for a layered vibe.
A square-neck tank tucked into trousers is sleek and easy.
