Yes, You *Do* Need These $70 Nordstrom Shoes (Plus 35 More Regret-Proof Fall Finds)
As I write this, it's the first day of October. New York is experiencing a rare 65-degree "not too hot, not too cold" day, meaning that I can finally break out all the beloved fall sweaters; thick, non-stretch jeans; and leather, waxed cotton, and wool jackets and blazers I've been storing since March. I'm feeling uncharacteristically excited about summer ending, and to take advantage of the fleeting feeling, only one thing came to mind. That is spending an entire evening scrolling through fall arrivals at Nordstrom, an activity I've partaken in every fall for as long as I can remember.
I like to pretend that the normal shopping rules don't apply during this short-lived period. I can invest in my fall wardrobe all I want without guilt. After all, everything's new and mostly practical, making whatever I buy entirely regret-proof. This year's haul, which includes everything from $70 slingbacks to my $3400 Saint Laurent dream bag, is my least regrettable to date. There's also cashmere, denim, and outerwear, all of which can be styled for any occasion and worn in multiple ways. See? No need for fashion shame here. Scroll down to see the best new fall Nordstrom items I discovered after hours of hunting.
For the Toteme aesthetic on a budget, you can't beat these $70 patent-leather slingbacks from Open Edit. The little strap across the top of your foot is so elegant.
I keep seeing this cardigan on Instagram and feel that I desperately need one. I love the funnel-neck effect you can get if you button it all the way up.
The subtle sheerness of this skirt makes it the perfect way to try out the translucent trend.
The possibilities are endless with an LBD like this one. I want to pair it with knee-high boots and a long cashmere wrap coat.
These sold out so quickly last fall, and I refuse to let it happen again without scoring a pair.
Okay, I actually already got these and can't stop wearing them. Everyone comments on how cool and sculptural they are.
This top is luxe. Pair it with jeans for something more casual or a skirt or trousers for a formal alternative.
I can't believe these brown suede boots aren't sold out yet. They give serious Khaite vibes but only cost $150.
If you don't know Nocturne, you do now. The prices are incredible.
I'll dream about this shearling Toteme jacket for the rest of time—period.
A spot of red will do wonders for any outfit this fall.
The Pinch Waist jeans from Agolde have been a longtime favorite of mine. The fit is just too good to pass up.
These have been on my mind for a few months now, and with them going on sale, I have all the fuel I need to press purchase.
I pulled this bag for New York Fashion Week and fell hard and fast for it. Its home is on my shoulder, which is where it'll live very soon.
This is the kind of blouse you grab again and again every time you don't know what to wear.
I'm in my Bermuda-shorts era. Plus, they're perfect for this in-between weather. I'm excited to try them out with tall boots.
A gorgeous pair of slingbacks will never be a bad idea. They work for every season, not to mention every occasion.
Everyone's talking about leopard print right now, and the fact that this trench is on sale is just what I needed to add the trend into my wardrobe immediately.
Talk about regret-proof buys. I just know when these are mine that I'll wear them daily.
I'm going to be stocking up on Nordstrom's cashmere sweaters all season long.
