I'm in My Simplified Skincare Era—How I Brighten, Hydrate, and Protect My Skin With Just One Product

It's the easiest way to give your complexion an extra boost.

Before I ever began my career in beauty, I fostered a deep fascination for all things skincare for years before I authored my first story the subject. Now, as I test and experiment with new products on the daily, I always take comfort in the fact that I've developed a deeper appreciate for the skin-loving ingredients that spark skin transformations. Because there's not yet a magic skincare product that works for everyone on the market, my job is to take note of the ones that help to address my specific concerns in hopes of helping someone that can relate.

I've had the goal of reversing the effects of UV damage on my skin over the past few years, and have landed on a skincare lineup that works year-round and defends my complexion against environmental threats. My effort has finally started to pay off, and many of the dark spots that I've been at war with have begun to lighten and vanish. The step in my routine that made the biggest difference in my routine? Investing in moisturizers with SPF as its key ingredient.

Shopping For An SPF Moisturizer

Wondering if an SPF-infused moisturizer is the best choice for you? One of the most frequently ask questions raised about these products is if the UV level determines how healthy the skin will be when using the moisturizer. Simply put, while a product with a higher SPF level doesn't mean it will offer more benefits your your skin than one that has less, high SPF means more protection against damaging UV rays. However, each moisturizer uses a different formula, so it's advised to shop according to your specific needs.

While individuals with dry, dull skin might see the most benefits from moisturizers that deliver a burst of moisture to the skin barrier (perhaps with a low UV defense level), others may have better luck with formulas that hep manage the natural oils of your skin and dry completely matte to provide a smooth, even base for makeup application. No matter what your skin goal is, there's a product out there that can help you meet it.
